Always been a bit dissapointed in poison in the series, they really haven't ever had a good use, and the only really good poison mon's are dual type. A legendary poison type would be pretty spiffy, especially if it doesn't look like a complete waste of space (grimer, trubbish, I'm looking at you two).

At least they finally have some decent poison moves, so it's not as bad as it used to be, but they just never seem to have a place since most the gym leaders and competitive never use things that are weak to poison and a bunch resist it.

Maybe a legendary stats would help.

EDIT: Meant to say also, would love to see Mono Poison legendary, but I think a Dark/Poison would be awesome too, especially if it was actually evil.

I can see i was beaten to the punch on this topic :P lol

I would like to see a psychic type and a dark type, seeing as they generally try to make good matchups as far as type is concerned. Generally though, I trust gamefreak to think up something cool and awesome as per usual and get me hooked even more.

We never had a powerful Grass-type legendary. I'm hoping one this time. Also Dark and Poison.

Skymin's been banned in both Generations he's been available, so I don't know about that...

IMO, a Poison-type Legendary should be priority one. But will they do one? lol idk.

Yeah, a Poison-type legendary. The guardian of the swamps. I wonder how hard competitive battlers will bash it.

Insert random hipster n00b: It's just not the same anymore! They're using legendaries for their marketing purposes!
*insert me* Wait. *insert flamethrower* Poison type legendary is a nessescity!
Fun fact: In some cultures, roasted hipster n00b is a delicacy!

No strong Grass type Legendary? Celebi may be tied with Exeggcute (among other Pokemon) for most weaknesses in the game but it still outclasses a good amount of Pokemon (including other legendaries I think) that have less. It's not devastating but it's not horrible either. Shaymin (especially as Skymin) is good too, and now we have Virizion which is decent as well.

I'm glad to see others agree that we need a Poison legendary. It is the only type that hasn't gotten a legendary yet. And god help them if they make it a Dragon/Poison.

I think Dragon/Poison would be an interesting combination but I think a generation of no Dragon type Legendary Pokemon (the first one since Generation II) could quell some flames that have been set by passionate old school Pokemon fans. Besides, we don't need another pokemon x4 resistant to Grass type moves (we'll probably get at least a handful of those this generation, as we do in each).

Poison/Dragon does add some interesting resistance combos. And I'm not some crazy old guy that only wants the pure RBY stuff, I just am a bit tired of there being so many legendary dragon types, but there are plenty of other "Legendary" types that ain't dragons too, so it's really just a toss of the dice. 1 isn't that bad, but there are enough out there already.

When I said "powerfull Grass-type" I mean powerful like the other legendaries, with a total of 680 of the base stats.

I'm really sick of the Dragon legendaries. I want to see something different.

Excluding alternate forms (but counting Pirouette Meloetta, and Skymin), there are:
14 psychic legendaries
10 flying legendaries
9 dragon legendaries

A lot of people complain about the amount of dragon type legendaries and yet no one only James complain about the psychic and flying types.

We need a poison type legendary. Hopefully Yveltal will be Dragon/Poison or Dark/Poison.

But considering most other types only got about 1-2 legendaries, except poison. 9 is still a lot, but yep, there are way too many legendaries grouped into just those 3 types.

As much as I hope for Dark/Poison for Yveltal, his structure just doesn't scream that combo unfortunatly. Won't know for sure till later, but I don't see that combo happening for him. Flying or Dragon at least most likely, and probably Dark if they go for two types. Maybe steel with a slight curveball.

Probably Fire and Flying. This is why they made it, its body suggests so many different types:
Fire, Dragon, Dark, Flying, Maybe Rock (the black parts of its body remind me of coal)

Its stimulating (sorta) to think about the types of new pokemon. I actually am more worried about Xerneas. At least with Yveltal you'll probably get a good combo.

With Xerneas, we may get a second Exeggcute or Oddish... Who wants that?

For the record, I was going to complain about Flying as well, but I realized there wasn't much of a margin.
Also, 3 dragons out of 15 legendaries is nearly 20%, GP. There was an equal amount of Flying types, but Fighting had 4 in Gen V.

I propose the Barrier Shift Pokemon. Type changes every turn and you never really know what it is, would be a fun legendary. Even it's starting type is random so you can't just always know what attack to spam on first turn.

Can be either mono type or dual type, would really be a fun change to me.

And no, not a Kecleon Pokemon, something better.

Flying is a secondary type, only Tornadus and Flying Arceus are pure flyers. So the fact that so many legendaries are flyers doesn't really count. As for Psychic types, although there are a lot, only Mewtwo is among the strongest 680 BST legendaries. While the Dragon type legendaries are all 680 BST (or 700 in Kyurem's alternate forms). So basically, Dragons dominate the legendary family.
And Yveltal won't be Poison. It's too cool for that.

Everyone is thinking about ALL the legendaries. I think more about the main ones, the mascots, with more than 600 of base total.
If we think about them we have:

Gen I - Psychic
Gen II - Fire/Flying and Psychic/Flying
Gen III - Water, Ground and Dragon/Flying
Gen IV - Steel/Dragon, Water/Dragon and Ghost/Dragon
Gen V - Fire/Dragon, Electric/Dragon and Ice/Dragon

There are more dragons than any other type. We had 3 consecutive generations with Dragon legendaries. I think it's time for a change.
Also 4 of the 6 pseudo-legendaries are Dragon-type.

Compared to the fact that in Gen V we had:
4 Fighting legendaries (Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo, and Cobalion)
3 Flying legendaries (Thudurus, Tornadus, and Landorus)
1 Psychic legendary (Victini)
1 Water legendary (Keldeo)
1 Ice legendary (Kyurem)
2 Fire legendaries (Victini and Reshiram)
2 Electric legendaries (Zekrom and Thrundurus)
2 Steel legendaries (Genesect and Cobalion)
1 Bug legendary (Genesect)
2 Dark legendaries (Zorua and Zoroark)
2 Ground legendaries (Terrakion and Landorus)
1 Grass legendary (Virizion)
And Meloetta, who counts as a normal, but its two forms add 1 Psychic (making it 2) and 1 fighting (making it 5).
If you ask me, the legendaries were very even. They were diverse, and the only ones that were non-Gen V that had some sort of head nod or reference to were Suicune, Celebi, Entei, Raikou, Dialga, Giratina, Palkia, and Arceus. No Regis, no Spirits, no Birds. Your argument?

Zorua and Zoroark aren't legendaries. They just have a unique move and a unique ability. Being movie stars doesn't mean a thing.
What I've been trying to point out is that, although we have many legendaries, the main ones since Gen III are Dragons. Sure enough, the trios (birds, dogs, regis, beings, kami)mcome in all shapes and sizes and there's a great variety in event-only legendaries, not to mention the musketeers from Gen V. But the big guys, the 'gods' so to speak, are Dragons.
