i think a dark type gym is needed. and think, how awesome would the gym look in 3D? The puzzle would be amazing, considering the fact that Grimsley's room in BW2 was pretty cool with the claws.

Since I never played Gen 5, I expect alot from Gen 6.
And I wish to see the old secret base system (from RSE) back. It was great.
Its not the first time in mention it, but I'd like a longer storyline, with bigger challenges (Ex: Morr trainers like Red from GSC)

I don't mind a longer storyline, but they need to stop trying so hard. Black and White frustrate me because you can't even walk through a route without being bothered by Team Plasma, Cheren, and/or Bianca. ._.

I actually kind of liked being able to battle cheren and bianca on every route. Gives you a chance to try out new pokemon. Instead of majorly failing against the gym leader instead.

Gen 6 looks like it could be interesting, but goddammit I don't want to have to buy a 3DS just for that. Regarding Gen 5, I really lost interest in Pokemon around that time - even right now I find myself playing HeartGold rather than White (in the rare case that I do end up playing Pokemon). I completely skipped out on B2W2 so I have no idea what that's actually like.

Battling major trainers very often like Cheren and Bianca is better practice for tougher trainers than battling random noobs like Youngster Kevin with lame pokemon. Plus if you still haven't tried a Generation V game, I recommend buying a used Black 2 or White 2 from Ebay or Amazon IT WILL BE WORTH IT! And I don't understand why people are complaining about having to buy 3DS systems since they're much cheaper since launch and you've had 2 years since launch to save up.

I got one when the console came out. I won it from one of those prize draws in a magazine. Never really used it though apart from Pokemon. It just gathers dust. My DSI is the one I use more often. It's really worn but great for battery. I can see what Younster Kevin will send out. "GO LVL 1 MAGIKARP THAT WON'T GIVE THEM ANY EXP TO BATTLE ALDER, THE CHAMPION, TWO STEPS FURTHER FROM HERE!"

Look I have two main wishes for the game.

- They make a reasonable amount of pokemon for each type.

- Chespin is a Dark type later on

James I don't think we can honestly expect an even amount of each type of pokemon. What generation has done that? None. However throughout the generations we've ended up with a reasonable amount of each pokemon. However I understand what you mean and instead of introducing 35 more water or normal pokemon, a few more evolutionary families for ghost, dragon, fighting, or ice would be ok.

Looks as far as I'm concerned as long as it doesn't turn into Sinnoh only having like 4 fire types apart from the starter I'm happy. There's so many normal, water and grass types you can't go onto a route without catching one. More special types. Psychic, Dark, Ghost. More of these. A few extra Fire types, but nothing like Litwik. Redo mag mortar with a completely different design, move set, evolution set, everything. I'll be happy.

I think we need more from these types:
Bug
Ice
Fire
Psychic
Steel
Rock
Ghost
Dark

Tone down:
Normal
Water
Grass
Dragon legendaries

Totally over the fandom acting like Fire is a special snowflake that needs tons and tons of Pokemon and it's somehow been screwed more than the other types over the years. It's right in the middle of all seventeen types in terms of representation, which is quite fair considering how rare Fire is in nature. Even in DP, there were a bunch of types that were represented far, far less than Fire, and Fire isn't even a good type in the first place. Still they went out their way to pile a bunch of new ones into BW appease the whining, while stranding Ice and Poison with total garbage.

Although I would like the idea of having a better ghost pokemon, since there are only a handful or so that are good, not to mention my favorite and it's evo (which was among the original 8 most powerful, mind you) being a horrible way to introduce the ghost type as a powerhouse. Ghost and poison aren't exactly great in a world dominated by powerful Psychics.
I'm thinking a pure ghost that has a decently good speed and HP stat, and excellent special stats would be a good candidate.

@Samurott World dominated by Psychics? Are you playing in Generation I still?
@Frost Yeah I agree there's a decent amount of Fire pokemon I don't think adding as many Fire pokemon next generation as they had Poison pokemon in Gen I would be too great a decision. Ice never gets too many pokemon per generation. Gen V got more Ice types than Gen III so don't really pin all the blame on Gen V, and Gen V also had more Poison than Gen II and Gen III and IV weren't Poison Palaces either.

Yes, vapor. I'm still playing Gen I, eventhough my username is that of the fully evolved Gen V water starter.
I was referring to Gen I when I said that.

@Krisp You know the palpark allows you to transfer ANY pokemon from the GBA games into the DS games (ie. D/P/P and HG/SS) It's the only way to get 100% of the Gen 1&3 pokemon into BW and DPP HGSS. So owning an actual DS or DSlite instead of just a DSi is completely worth it if you own the GBA games.

@James If you're trying to buy the old school GBA games and something to play them with, I would recommend a DSlite, better quality screen and more compact, battery life was better than the brick DS too.

@Samurott DS aren't obsolete for the above reason, from a pokemon standpoint, lets you play and transfer GBA pokemon to DS games, and besides there are plenty of amazing GBA games still easily purchasable that are fun to play in this day and age. Golden Sun for one, but mainly trying to stay on topic.

Dark gym would be great to see, think it's the only typing that hasn't had a gym, off the top of my head. Though there have been E4 members that are dark specialists.

I may be a bit soon that GEN6 is already announced, but that doesn't mean it's coming out tomorrow, 5 had a good run and it's still going on, as far as I know there isn't even a predicted release date for 6, how do we know it's coming out in 2013 at all (please correct me if I'm wrong on a date though)? Screenshots are easy to make, the full game takes much longer.

During the official announcement it was revealed that the release date is October 2013.

@vggamer: Last I checked, a console is obsolete when they no longer make games for it. That said, the DS isn't totally obsolete... Yet.

Wouldn't consider it obsolete just cause they stop making games for it, and Japan is still making games for the DS even though American games are dwindling.

Don't need to make new games for a system to still have it's uses, can mod the old ones, or still play classic games. Still got my NES hooked up, along with N64, SNES, Genesis, Dreamcast, with my game gear, psp, and neo geo pocket color sitting right next to them. Got my SP on me right this second even, playing through yellow again. In no way are any of those obsolete.

I'd like to agree with you, but naw, that isn't how it is. When it becomes obsolete, it is legal. Modding it won't make it better. Espescially if it still uses cartridges and not CDs and is a home console. I still play the recently obsolete PS2, which is most likely the greatest console ever to be made, but it is still obsolete.
And it is possible to make a game in one year. Infinity Ward used to do it; no doubt Game Freak can too.

Not obsolete, just not practical. As long as something has a use it isn't obsolete, and millions of people still find a use for older systems even without modding, just playing the classic games on the classic system, making them not obsolete.

Until they remake Gen 1-3 for the DS/3DS, then a non DSi/3DS still has it's uses, and so does the GBA SP for that matter (most likely used GBA to play classic and color games on).

And I'm sure plenty would agree with me that they'd rather play a cartridge instead of a rom. hard to pull of trades with an emulator.

Also, how does becoming obsolete and legal have anything to do with it? O_o

You don't get the meaning of obsolete. There is better software + better hardware than it. It's obsolete.

I understand the term quite well, just don't agree with you that it's obsolete. GBA, sure, obsolete, DS, not so much. I'll still take a DS over a 3DS for my standard DS games any day since the 3DS washes out a lot of the color in the DS games, and I find very few 3DS games worth it yet for the console still.

Whatever you'd like to think it as, I guess. I don't think I could even sway your view on what is obsolete.

Not when it comes to the DS really, haha. Same as me saying I won't be able to sway you that there are a lot of very good technology that you will ignore just because the masses deem it "obsolete" because it isn't the newest and shiniest thing on the market. meh.

The idea of always moving on to the next new thing just cause it's new bothers me is all. Just cause cause it's new doesn't make it better, I think a DS outperforms the 3DS any day of the week in just about every aspect except 1 or 2, but that's just me.
