I thought that just Star Wars was sold.
WEll, we could see it coming. Both of them have rides at Disneyland, they even make Jedi Mickey toys. Yeah... pretty much throwing Thrawn out the window. At least they hopefully won't be as much of a jerk about denying the fan novel canon as Lucas. He went against so much, especially the Clone Wars and Hutt biology, with the Clone Wars movie and corresponding CN show. Would really hate for Thrawn, Jacen/Jaina/Anakin Solo, and Luke's Praxeum to be gone. Because that's the only era of Star Wars books I read, besides the first chronological Thrawn book and the Han Solo trilogy.

Well, the Clone Wars had nothing to do with the original movies, except in character names. I doubt that there will ever be something to continue the original, and I probably wouldn't like something like that anyway.

The EU didn't come around until the prequel trilogy anyway, but now it's so big that fans will have something to complain about, no matter who makes it.

Disney wouldn't change Hasbro much anyway, but then they could have better Barbie movies and cheaper toys.

I don't think this is a bad decision by George Lucas. In essence, he is still going to be in charge of the Star Wars franchise, seeing as he's the mastermind behind it all. It would be extremely unwise for Disney to change any part of the equation that's already in place, and I doubt they are going to do so anyway.
Pixar and Marvel are doing great. Why all the fuss? |
