I just noticed there wasn't a thread for this. A Theme Run is when you play through a Pokemon game while selecting and nicknaming your trainer and their Pokemon based on an existing IP. For example, I'm in the middle of a FireRed Theme Run based on the Gurren Lagann anime. I'm using a male trainer named Simon, who battles with a Beedrill named Lagann. Boota the Dugtrio is an HM slave.

Kinda. I named each member of my party in my last Blue run after a weapon or weapon-like thing...
Charizard: Dynamite Poliwrath: Shovel Butterfree: Shotgun Wigglytuff: Fist Clefable: Dagger except... Raichu: Potatochu Potatochu being a nickname I have given Pikachu's pre-gen-3 look.
