I've been EV training pokemon for a new team to beat the Elite Four a second time and continue on to lvl 100. This is who I have currently:

-Trick (using it to steal items, but I'm not sure what to replace it with)

Marowak @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 HP, 4 Speed
Nature: Brave (+Atk -Speed)

-Sword Dance
-Double-edge
-Brick Break

Vileplume @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 126 Sp. Def, 64 Speed, 68 Def
Nature: Sassy (+Sp. Def -Speed)

-Solar Beam
-Sludge Bomb
-Sleep Powder (probably will switch to Stun Spore)


I also have a Lapras I have not EV trained who knows Surf, Ice Beam, Thunder, Rain Dance. I may try to catch another and EV train it using the same moveset because I definitely need a water type, and his dual water/ice type making Ice Beam STAB is awesome. But there's my team, I'd like 2 more pokemon. Any advice?

Note: Blastoise is my starter, and I'm playing on an emulator so I can't trade or anything.

Haha thank you! I agree a fire type would be nice, I just don't know which. I love Arcanine but I don't think he offers anything else to my team other than flamethrower. I'd like Moltres but I don't like using Legendaries because I feel its cheating . I could try Magcargo since I have a slugma, I've never used one before. Or Flareon?

There's a lot of choices.
I chose Rapidash (of course).
Arcanine is also a good choice, since you can get Extremespeed. But he have a poor moveset.
Magcargo is perfect if you need both fire, rock and ground moves. But he's slow.
Flareon is not so good. He have low hp and defence stats, so he can get killed easily.

The Sunny Day, Solarbeam combo is very good since you can supereffective all the fire type weaknesses. (Water, Rock, Ground.)

Movesets:

My Rapidash:
~Sunny Day
~Solarbeam
~Flamethrower
~Body Slam

Arcanine:
-Extremespeed
-Flamethrower
-Maybe Solarbeam + Sunny Day

Magcargo:
-Flamethrower
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Smog/ Yawn

Give your fire type a Charcoal, which will boost your fire type attack.

Yup I already gave him Calm Mind instead of trick haha!

I'm actually going to learn Crunch on my Larvitar, breed it with a Rhyhorn, then breed that to a Growlithe and use Crunch, ExtremeSpeed, Flamethrower, and I dunno. I wish I could give him Aerial Ace like my current Arcanine ><

Also, I have my Vileplume with the Sunny Day/Solarbeam combo (though it wouldn't hurt to have two)

What about Dig or Toxic on it?

I might do dig, that's not a bad idea. The Rhyhorn that I'm breeding learned Rock Slide from Larvitar, and I kinda wish it would carry over to my Growlithe, but I don't think its possible haha. I think I'll just do Sunny Day, Extreme Speed, Flamethrower, and Crunch for now. And I'll split my EV's 126/126 for Atk and Sp. Atk, and 252 in Speed.
