I am never lucky with the slot machines, so I hunt in the Safari Zone.
Attempt #10:
"A wild Dratini appeared!"
"What will you throw?"
*throws ball*
"Aww! It appeared to be caught!"
*Dratini flees*
*throws GBA at the wall* (not really because I will never hurt my brother's stuff)

You can buy coins, you know. Then get (I think) somewhere between 2100 and 5000 coins, and you can get one at the exchange center next door.
That's how I got my two s. They're like this:
1. "Lightwing" @Leftovers Lv. 100
Quiet Nature (I suck at getting good natures, but oh well...)
No idea of EVs
Hyper Beam
Thunderbolt
Wing Attack
Dragon Claw
2. "Whitestar" @NeverMeltIce Lv. 67
Timid Nature (again, no luck in natures )
Ice Beam
Outrage
Slam
Wing Attack
Yeah, they're both in LeafGreen, and well, they're two of my strongest Pokemon there are.

Ditto what torchie13125 said, I never gamble for coins, I just go in and buy however many I need to get whatever prize I need (usually one of the TMs).

Either way, I have almost no money *begs for pokedollars* I spend too much on pokeballs because I catch all the new pokemon in the area. Also I already got my Dratini to (painfully) evolve to a Dragonite so I don't need another one. Preparing for the E4 is keeping me from buying anything else in the Game Corner.

It's okay. Besides, with the Amulet Coin and the VS Seeker, you're going to have a lot of money at the end anyway. Have you tried using Electrode or Jolteon yet? They're so good at defeating Lorelei without being destroyed by her Ice Pokemon. Anyway, from the Safari Zone, seriously, I was doing my LG today, and well, I was trying to catch a SHINY Tauros, and it fled! WAHHHHHHHHH!
Okay, I'm done crying. Sorry. So yeah, Shineys are better to breed than get in the Safari Zone, except... Tauros cant' be bred!

That totally sucks, torchie. I would really throw my brother's GBA at the wall if that happened to me and not just shake it hard.
Another unlucky situation:
In the beginning of the game...
A wild Pidgey appeared!
Go! Bulbasaur!
Bulbasaur used Tackle! Bulbasaur's attack missed!
Wild Pidgey used Tackle!
Bulbasaur used Tackle! Bulbasaur's attack missed!
Wild Pidgey used Tackle!
It went on and on while Thundawave's Bulbasaur kept missing most of the time and Pidgey kept attacking until...
Wild Pidgey used Tackle!
Bulbasaur fainted!
Thundawave whited out and left $64 in her panic!
*almost throws GBA at the wall*
*resets game*

I didn't restart the whole game. I just turned it off so that it was as if that incident never happened. This was in the very beginning of the game, so it wouldn't have mattered if I restarted the whole thing anyway. I just had rotten luck with the stupid 95% accuracy of tackle.

For real, the worst nightmare of people is to find a shiny in Safary Zone. You know you can't capture it, so take a picture of the shiny instead I will tell you how i got all my shinies (or saw them) ~1.Rattata (Firered): Starting a game, no poke balls yet... aww. ~2.Zubat (Firered): In Mt.Moon (just after rattata). No poke balls left... ~3.Zubat (Firered): After I finish the game I come back and find Zubat shiny. Captured!!! :3 ~4.Steelix (Diamond): Found it at Victory Road. Captured ~5.Spearow (Diamond): Found it the day after i caught Steelix. Captured ~6.Golbat (Platinum): Found it in a cave. Captured.. ~7.Magikarp (HG): Found it lvl 30 at Lake Of Rage... Why lvl 30!!! Anyway... captured! ~8.Wrumple (Emerald): Found it in the forest. He's now a Dustox. Captured! ~9.Roselia (Diamond): Found it in the gardens. Captured! ~10.Nidorino (HG): Searching for a chansey in the grass, found a shiny Nidorino instead. Captured! ~11. and 12.Tentacruel + Onix (Firered): I was travelling One Island when I found a lvl 38 shiny Tentacruel. I headed immediately to Victory Road to train him: The first pokemon i saw was a lvl 45 shiny Onix!!! 2 shinies in a row! Just Zomg! I can say that was my lucky day! (It happenned 3 days ago) So, in total, 12 seen and 10 captured! I always bring my Butterfree with Sleep powder and 25 ultra balls with me now ;P And i NEVER go into Safary Zone!!! And I never use Poké Radar to find a shiny, wich I consider as a cheat. Good Luck! ;P
