Hi all :) I just join psypokes after having a hard time finding a solution. I changed my cartridge's battery about 3 weeks ago. Time has been running then. (PROVE: Tides in shoal cave changes.) So I assume all clock-based events should be running normal. Next, I try out a berry after battery changed, I planted an Oran berry. Water it as many times I could. But till today, the berry is not growing! :cry: I'm lost. No solutions. I seen others saying berry glitch but I do not if it occurs in Emerald too. How? What can I do? I hope u guys are still playing emerald and able to help if u experience the same problem or u have any solutions that can be shared. I been posting in youtube where I learn how to change the battery. No one replied, so I decide to seek here for help. Thanks in advance!

It's maybe a glitch. Did you tried to plant a different berry? Or if its not working at all, the berry master can still give you some berry, at least...

As far as I'm aware there is no fix for this on your current file. The only way to fix this is to restart. In my experience replacing the battery indeed makes the clock keep track of time once again but it causes a glitch that stops time events.

Solution: restart.

the berry glitch usually isn't in emerald. it takes roughly half a day for an oran berry. but u have to play for half a day for it to grow if it doesn't grow without playing. :ugeek:

I had this problem in Emerald as well. I went a long time without being able to plant and grow berries. After completing the game I put it down for a while and then restarted my file. After resarting, berries grew for me once again.

Hi all! Thank you very much! I really appreciate all the responses! At least now I feel comfortable with u guys helping me with solutions! I hope this thread will keep on going too as I believe there are others like me who still play this Emerald after so long time. Anyway sorry for the late reply as I login in only in the weekends to check.

@GhostPony750:
Hi there! I never try as I do not want more berries to get stuck too. So I was afraid to planted another one. :)

@Krisp:
Hi there! Thanks! Restart? I will need some time to transfer my stuffs and Pokemon as I used it as a main storage of all my collections as I completed my pokedex and other stuffs as I have all 3: Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. So if I have to restart, I will need time to transfer. But will it work after I done so? I will remain this as the final solution! :D

@wiimanab:
Hi! Thank you for the response! I have tried twice before leaving the game on for the entire day until my gameboy's battery went flat! The berry just do not grow at all! :( (worst still, my new replaced battery in the cartridge is wasted as well) HAHA! :D

@Den-Den:
Hi Den-Den! Thank you too! Ur response of restarting is the same like what Krisp mention. :D
My questions: Did you also change the internal battery? After changing, your berry also did not grow?
Because I need to be certain if your situation is the same as mine.
I will still restart to see but I want to see your response.

I hope more responses! Thanks in advance!

Seeing as you have somewhere else to store your Pokemon, why not just grow berries on that game? (Assuming it's possible)

Hi Patchy! Thanks for replying! "why not just grow berries on that game? (Assuming it's possible)"
Which game are you refering? is it Emerald?

I didn't change the internal battery because other time related events were still working, it was just the berries that were acting strangely. And after my restart, everything worked just fine.

No problem!
No what I meant was, since you said you'd be able to transfer your Pokemon to another game, if that game was Ruby or Sapphire you could grow your berries there. It might be easier than restarting Emerald. :)

@Den-Den:
I see! :) But not sure if mine will do the same. Thanks!

@Patchy:
Thanks for the quick response! :D Haha! My Ruby and Sapphire are out of internal battery too! I going to change them when I'm free! :) I wonder if the same problem will occur on them as well? Oh my, if it so, all my 3 games are affected! And I need to restart all???!!! HAHA! Oh my! :shock:

My Sapphire's internal battery has run dry too, I can't find my Ruby but it's probably the same, it sucks! I thought the berry problem (not the battery though, just the berry problem in Emerald) could be fixed by trading with FRLG or something though...maybe someone else can clarify that. :)

Hello everyone! I just registered so I could post here and let you know that you’re not alone. ^^’

There is something wrong with berries on my Emerald game. I planted a Cheri Berry next to the Berry Master's house on the left side of the middle berry field on the bottom, and it just does not grow. I've planted it years ago, it is still in its first stage. I have an original copy of the game, the battery is still working, time based events occur (most other berries grow fine), I have never ever used any cheating devices, and I have never changed the battery.

I've googled and found somebody from 2010 who has planted the same berry on the same spot and has the same problem. Google also led me here.

If anyone knows how to fix this without restarting the game, please let me/us know. It's annoying and I'm afraid it might happen to other berry spots / berries as well. At the moment I guess I'm still very lucky though as all other berries except that one seem to grow fine. I'm just surprised that after all this time, almost nobody knows about such berry problems in Emerald. There is also no mention of such a glitch on Bulbapedia.

So, I'm sorry I can't tell you how to fix this. But I thought I should at least let you know that it may not be related to your changing the battery as it also happens with other Emerald games where other time based events (and even other berries) still happen.

You're thinking of the famous Berry Glitch. That glitch only happens in Ruby and Sapphire, NOT in Emerald, and can be fixed in a number of ways, one of them involving Fire Red / Leaf Green. You can read all about the glitch and how to fix it on Bulbapedia.

Hi guys, missing awhile as I was busy. Hmm, I too cannot find response so I created this thread. Hopefully anyone who knows will see this post. I guess many do not touch these games anymore that's why there is so little help.
