So I'm finally getting around to going out and buying a 4th gen game. Which of the three should I get (By this I mean which one is best)? I'm thinking either diamond or platinum. Or both.

Do you even have to ask?

The third game is always the real one, the first pair is a beta with a bunch of features left out intentionally so they can add them into the third to be sure you'll buy it even if you bought one of the others. Duh-doy.

I decided to look at the info page for Platinum. It says you can catch Dialga and Palkia in this one. Is true? You can get Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina?

Dialga and Palkia are both post-E4 and at level 70.

I can actually attest to the fact that Diamond and Pearl are both TERRIBLE games. Platinum is better than both and fixed a lot of things that the other two lacked. It's like comparing Emerald to Ruby and Sapphire. (However, Platinum's nowhere near as awesome as Emerald, but you get the idea.)

If you don't have Diamond or Pearl, do not bother getting them. Just go straight for Platinum and actually ENJOY yourself.

(I actually own all 3 of those titles, by the way. I know what I'm talking about.)

I've never actually played Emerald all the way through before. I think I might prefer the way Aqua and Magma worked in Ruby best, though; with Team Aqua on your side. In Sapphire it didn't make much sense because Team Aqua's motives were silly, and having both be evil is necessary for Emerald to cover all the ground it has to, but it's not great writing.

Platinum has some exclusive things, like:
- You can change Rotom's form;
- You get a Togepi Egg;
- You can get a Eevee before Elite 4;
- You can get Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

If you gonna buy 2 games, buy Platinum and the other will depend which Pokémon you want. I prefer Diamond because I can catch Lartvitar and Seel, but Pearl has Misdreavus.

You see, i`m a collector. I have every pokemon game released. Even *Sigh* Hey you Pikachu. And i must say Platinum is far better than D/P. There`s no point in buying the others when you can go online and trade for the other pokemon that are exclusive to them, pretty much useless to my POV.

Platinum is much better than D/P. Firstly and most importantly, you can catch Dialga, Palkia and Giritina. Whereas in Diamond/Pearl you can only acquire the other through trade or dare I say it Action Replay. Secondly, the graphics are better in Platinum and the game itself runs smoother. I have played Diamond but very briefly and I can just about remember the story line had some slight changes to Platinum. In conclusion I'd say Platinum is the best, for obvious reasons.
