The GSC was my absolute favorite among all the games.
The backstory and lore is incredibly intriguing, especially that of the legendary cats (or beasts), ho-oh, Lugia and the Unown.
The Union Cave and the Ruins of Alph were ingenious and incredibly thought out.
Diversified gym types.
Breeding.
Custom balls.
Branched Evolution, 'nuff said.
Day and Night Cycle
Headbutt on small trees.
And who could forget being able to go back to Kanto? This is one of the gem of the GSC.
Probably the only things I don't like is the lack of Safari, fleeing Pokemon and the incredibly tedious Whirl Islands.

the metallics would have been prefect if they just added +10 or more to all kanto people,
and made all kanto dungeons full size.

The sprites and other images were much simpler, so was the plot. (though my friends claim that Pokemon never had a plot)
I especially liked the feel of the game. It didn't seem as competitive or serious as it is now. I think newer games are getting more competitive, and there's a sense of semi-seriousness about them. I play Gold to relax when I'm fed up with my GBA or DS Pokemon games. (since I'm in the middle of beating the Sinnoh region for the fourth time)
The ability to get 16 badges and visit Kanto was also amazing. And the abundance of legendaries. There were the birds and Mewtwo in Kanto, then the dogs, Ho-Oh and Lugia were added to that in Jhoto.

What I loved most was just the feeling of a fresh new Pokémon game. New region, new Pokémon, new characters!

I don't have anyone to trade with. If you have a tip, E-mail me at klwcms@yahoo.com. The other thing I don't like is that the legindary dogs move around so much. It is anoying to try and catch them.
That's cool but what you are doing is necromancy... KingErick wrote: Gallade Roxas wrote: What I loved most was just the feeling of a fresh new Pokémon game. New region, new Pokémon, new characters!
ya i remember getting the game for my 7 or 8th b-day and getting the cyndaquil for the first time and remembering how new and cool it was. I was so excited to see all the new pokes
Yeah, you contradict yourself, KingEric. You necromanced too. (Jun. 2010 to Sept. 2010) So yes.
As for the question, I loved the real time feature and that I could get a Chikorita in it. (Then, I was a Grass-Type fanatic-I played it in 2007) Oh, and the music. That's why I have the GB sounds on whenever I play my brother's SoulSilver, as mine doesn't have it yet. (I forgot how to get it.)
