You know: use just one pokemon to sweep the entire game. Usually that one pokemon is the starter, but you could get creative.

Recently I did two solo runs on Ruby with Blaziken and Swampert (and as mentioned in the shiny thread, I caught a shiny poke in each solo run!). I even got them to level 100 before battling the E4. Right now I'm thinking of doing a run with Sceptile, or even Blaziken again, but I don't know what to do???

This seems like a really interesting concept. I've never done one myself, but it would be nice to see if you could do it with any Pokemon in any game (Magikarp run, anyone?)

I do think you should do the Sceptile one as well, though. Might as well complete the set!

If you use a ROM, you could use AdvanceStarter to change which starter you get. It's free to download, and works well.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll start a Sceptile run sometime.

An interesting thing I do on my Ruby runthroughs: I'll catch 5 zigzagoons early-game, and pickup TONS of items, including rare candys. And once I get to victory road, I'll use all the rare candys at once and get my poke to Lv100!

EDIT: In fact I'm even going to try to SR for a SHINY Treecko while I'm at it. So far I havent had any luck with it though. If I get a shiny I'll bump this post

A friend of mine did a FR/LG run with only a Caterpie. It ended up at Lv 97 or so but he eventually beat the game.

Good luck with your Sceptile run :)
