Most recently, I quite enjoyed Shutter Island. Phenomenal movie, really messes with your head. Heard great things about Inception as well, but haven't made it to the theatre to see it yet.
All-time: Ocean's Eleven. Clever, great acting, hilarious dialogue, and just overall awesome.

Favorite movies in order:
.Ponyo .Princess Mononoke .Howl's Moving Castle .Nanny McPhee; Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang .Oliver and Company .Beauty and the Beast
I've seen Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle around 15 times each now all the way though from start to finish. Not sure why I like them so much, but if anyone hasn't seen them before I suggest watching them.

Ohh man LotR #1 then edward scissorhands then anything else that tim burton's done then movies that blow your mind, like the prestige or inception then startrek
