Um... a simple message would suffice.

I'm not complaining here or bashing what happened, I'm merely stating a concern that I don't particularly feel comfortable with.
Now, I understand that the bandwidth for signatures is limited, but I have seen others with far longer signatures, besides the point. What I don't feel comfortable with is the fact that instead of leaving me a message, such as, "Could you please change your signature, it is far too long." But instead, break onto my account and change it yourself?
I was a guest to this site long before I decided to join up, but had I known that my account was just.. open, or easily activated by someone else that I don't know in hopes to get my attention, perhaps I would have thought twice.
This has never happened, I wish for it not to happen again, for I feel its an invasion of privacy when a simple message could have been given. If you have the time to break into my account to change my signature yourself, you have the time to leave me a message.
That was unnecessary and.. rather.. breaks the trust of administration to member.
Merely concerns.

You DO realize that an administrator on ANY forum software can edit things like your signature without accessing your account, right? That's kind of what it means to "administer" a forum.

This is the only site that's ever done it. The others I've been members with for a long time wouldn't. They send you a private message and have it blocked or locked off until you change it. : / None of this accessing and doing it themselves.

That's their choice, then.
In no way was your account ever accessed. Going in to disable your signature completely is done right next to changing your signature. Plus, if we disabled your signature, we'd have to re-enable it after you changed it. Doing things this way means that as soon as you change it, you have it back.
I understand your concerns over security, but I assure you that unless you were to give an administrator your password, we can't actually access your account.
