There's probably another topic like this, but I haven't seen any recent ones.

Anyway, mines Firered. I've never played any Gen I or II games, so I dont know those games. But Firered seemed to have very smooth graphics (unlike my Platinum which was rather slow (at least not as slow as Diamond)). And in an earlier topic, FR had the best game sprites for me. Also, it was my first poke game to be ever played, and that's when my level 70 Charizard would Cut/Fly/Flamethrower/Blast Burn everything to death, and my untrained level 51 Zapdos would Shock Wave/Drill Peck stuff to death as well. And Firered has all the Gen I pokes, which are the best, so yea.

I don't have a favorite game but right now it is White because its the one I'm playing at the moment. But soon it will change to whatever comes out next.

Hmm, well I have been playing the games from the very start (excluding some of the console games and the Ranger/Mystery Dungeon games) so choosing DPP over RBY was difficult for me. I took a very long break from Pokemon due to how much I did not like the RSE games, DPP turned that around for me like no other... I have beat the games at least 20 times and at one point eclipsed 500 hours on one Diamond play through. However I still feel as though Gen 1 introduced the best pokemon, story, characters, and with Yellow allowing you to get all 3 starters the best it gave us the best single feature.

Diamond & Pearl were by far the best duo for me. I've been a fan of the series since I was an 11 year old kid (gasp, that was over ten years ago!) and DP really were great. I didn't play RB until post Gen1 and they weren't that great anyway so they're out, GS and HGSS are my second favorites, and RS just sucked. BW isn't that great either.

I felt like DP was the peak of the series, being able to trade and battle with my Psypoke friends was amaaaaazing.

Since I don't count the third versions, RS is significantly lowered on my list. Emerald was very fun too, but not RS.

I will be specific here & say, Pokemon Platinum is my favorite game...

It introduced some outstanding MT move options that made a ridiculous amount of pokemon better & more useful, they allowed 1 to obtain some pokemon that were previously only available after obtaining the National Dex in previous versions during the story like Gallade, Froslass & Rhyperior, it had some great places to EV train for any Stat & the protagonist had an improvement in attire, all this among other things makes it the best Pokemon game I have ever played, even beating Crystal & HGSS & BW even...

I may only play White at the moment but I really had more fun post game in Platinum which further adds to my reasoning for picking it over any other version...

For the longest time, it's been Gold. But now, I'm beginning to think it might be Black.

I guess, to be honest, I've enjoyed them all equally. My favorite part of pokemon, and the part that keeps me coming back for more, is the journey, so as long as I can catch pokemon, watch them grow, and kickass with them, I'm always sold.

Ruby / Sapphire is my favorite for one reason: Secret Bases. I had a blast with that, being able to fight my friends teams everyday. Everyone building teams to outdo the others.... and it was more fun to decorate than the other variants that came after.

To be fair though, every gen has something i like about it more than the others. Maybe one day they'll finally make a game that has all my favorite features in it :P

Dangertrout & Everyone Else,

THAT is basically the reason I like Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald [to decorate my secret based and have tons of fun with it] even though I actually have been playing the previous version ever since Red, Blue, and Yellow first came out! (though Yellow was so awesome and kicks butt, btw)

This was a little tricky. Fire Red was the first I had played (and got addicted to). And I've played most of the others. But I really liked Heart Gold/Soul Silver the best for a few reasons; it was the first one that I purchased new (pre-ordered even), it was the one that forced me to buy my DS Lite, I really liked the game-play and puzzles, and I really liked the legendaries in it.

Yeah, I know, I'm going against the flow here ... but that's pretty normal for me! LOL
