Game: Black
Theme/Environment: Subway
Availability/Restrictions: I have Gen 3 and 4 tutors and trade evos from those generations, but I can't get Gen 5 trade evos.
Reply: Post

Alrighty, I had a lot of luck with a variation of this team in HG with Latios, but I don't want to send my only good natured Latios to Black so I chose Hydreigon instead. I'd appreciate options for other pokemon. (except Suicune, because that's my favorite)

Suicune @ Leftovers
Relaxed, Pressure
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Satk
~Surf
~Calm mind
~Rest
~Sleep talk

Typical Crocune, with a different nature. I'm using the event nature because I don't want to send my HG Suicune to Black either.

Electivire @ Expert Belt/Battery
Jolly, Motor Drive
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
~Thunderpunch
~Earthquake
~Ice Punch
~Cross Chop

Motor drive works great for switching into electric attacks that target Suicune. I'm not sure about the item, does the battery work with motor drive, or does motor drive cancel it out?

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Timid, Levitate
252 Satk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
~Dragon Pulse
~Dark Pulse
~Flamethrower
~Surf

This is for the grass types that come in on Suicune. Should I Drop something for a boosting move, or is there not a very useful one?

die Kuh (Miltank) (F) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SDef /
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Counter
- Seismic Toss

Miltank makes an awesome lead. T-Wave can annoy weaker Special attackers like Politoed and Ninetales, and Gengar doesn't appreciate it either. Counter takes out most Physical leads, since Machamp's DynamicPunch isn't even enough to OHKO it. Seismic Toss lets me slowly take the HP from anything I paralyze (even Gengar, thanks to Scrappy)

Zeus (Borutorosu) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Mischievous Heart
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

Prett much a simple Special Attacker. Substiture lets me scout the attack and switch to somethinf fitting.

Karp PISSED! (Gyarados) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

It's Gyarados! The normal Gyarados set. Jolly Nature lets me outspeed Jolteon and Scarftran after a Dragon Dance.

Natty Ice (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Spikes
- Leech Seed

Nattorei, by far my favorite wall of Gen 5. Leech Seed let's me sap the opponent's health, Spikes hurts on switches, and then I have 2 Powerful STAB attacks.

Wind Skar (Skarmory) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Whirlwind
- Protect
- Freefall
- Toxic

Skarmory is one d :censored: mn annoying Toxic Staller with Freefall (and its to only stall set I've ever been able to sucessfully use). Toxic is the main damager here, with Protect to raise Toxic damage and Leftovers to raise my HP. Freefall picks them up first turn, then damages turn two, and they can't attack while in the air, giving me another free Toxic/Leftovers turn. Whirlwind takes advantage of the Spikes, and is useful in getting rid of pokes trying to raise their stats.

Main problem is the lack of Roost recovery, but I can usually do pretty good without it.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Psychic
- Dragon Pulse

Latias makes a good Bulky attacker, and can do pretty well assuming the other team doesn't have Empoleon or Shedinja.

Sorry for the uber-humongous post, but I rated all three of your teams.

Metagross – Physic/Steel
- Clear Body – No Stat Reductions
- Physical Tank
- Life Orb
- Max EV’s in Atk. & HP (HP maybe modified to get 200 Spd.)
- Adamant Nature (Atk. +/ Spa. -)
- Move Set
o Meteor Mash (Steel)
o Zen Headbutt (Physic)
o Earthquake (Ground)
o Bullet Punch (Fighting)
Bullet punch is actually a Steel-type move, not a fighting type. I would definitely use either Agility or Rest in place of it.

Hydreigon – Dark/Dragon
- Levitate – Ground Immunity
- Special Assault Sweep
- Lustrous Orb/Life Orb
- Max EV’s in Spa. and Spd.
- Modest (Spa. +/ Atk. -) Timid (+ Spd - Atk)
- Move Set
o Surf (Water)
o Flamethrower (Fire)
o Dragon Pulse (Dragon)
o Dark Pulse (Dark)
No Pokemon other than Palkia is allowed to hold a lustrous orb. Also consider replacing Dragon pulse with Draco meteor for sheer power. Aside from that, looks good. Also gives you very good coverage, excellent pokemon.

Aerodactyl – Rock/Flying
- Unnerve – Opponent Can’t use Berry
- Physical Sweep
- Life Orb
- Max EV’s in Atk. & Spd.
- Jolly Nature (Spd. +/ Spa. -)
- Move Set
o Stealth Rock (Rock)
o Stone Edge (Rock)
o Earthquake (Ground)
o Ice Fang (Ice)
Generally, it's not a good idea to give a frail physical sweeper like Aero Stealth Rock, unless you wanted to give him a focus sash and move him up to the lead position, and then replace Ice Fang with Taunt. You could also give it Hone Claws, which is a decent setup move and counteract's Stone Edge's awful accuracy.

Gengar – Ghost/Poison
- Levitate – Ground Immunity
- Glass Special Sweep
- Wise Glasses
- Max EV’s in Spa. & Spd.
- Timid Nature (Spd. +/ Atk. -)
- Move Set
o Shadow Ball (Ghost)
o Energy Ball (Grass)
o Psychic (Psychic)
o Thunder Bolt (Electric)
Energy ball is borderline useless on this thing, try focus blast. Wise glasses is actually a really pathetic boost, and since you can get as many life orbs as you want from the battle subway on black and white, I would reccomend that on this thing. Also, you could replace psychic with substitute so he can at least survive a hit.

( Rotom H – Fire/Electric
- Levitate – Ground Immunity
- Special Tank
- Wise Glasses
- Max EV’s in Spa. & HP
- Timid Nature (Spd. +/ Atk. -) Bold/Careful nature (Both cut Atk, bold raises DEF while careful raises SPDEF)
- Move Set
o Overheat
o Shadow Ball
o Thunderbolt
o Will-o-Wisp/Charge
I would give it leftovers to complement its high defenses, and take some of the ev's out of Special Atk and put them into the defenses.

OR

Infernape – Fire/Fighting
- – Ground Immunity
- Endeavor + Stealth Rock Glass Lead
- Focus Sash
- Max EV’s in Spd. & Spa.
- Timid Nature (Spd. +/ Atk. -)
- Move Set
o Overheat
o Vaccuum Wave
o Endeavor
o Stealth Rock)
Honestly, this Ape looks really good for a lead, you could mess stuff up with this. I would consider possibly grass Knot over Vaccuum wave to deal with the likes of Swampert.

Feraligatr – Water
- Torrent – Low HP Water Boost
- Dragon Dance Spam
- Leftovers
- Max EV’s in Atk. & Spd. (30 HP from Spd.)
- Adamant (Atk. +/ Spa. -)
- Move Set
o Return (Normal)
o Earthquake (Ground)/ Waterfall (Water)
o Dragon Dance (Dragon)
o Aqua Jet (Water)

If you're going to be raising your speed with DD, you don't really need aqua jet, so you could run EQ and waterfall.

If I were you, I would either make the Aerodactyl a lead, and then use Rotom over Infernape, or alternately you could use Infernape as the lead, and replace SR on Aerodactyl with Hone Claws. It's really up to you, since either one would work. Hope I helped. Enjoy :D

Here's your team rate, jhoyt888.

Bold vs. Relaxed is not a really big deal. Standard crocune works great in the battle subway, I'm a fan myself.
Electivire @ Expert Belt/Battery
Jolly, Motor Drive
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
~Thunderpunch
~Earthquake
~Ice Punch
~Cross Chop

Motor drive works great for switching into electric attacks that target Suicune. I'm not sure about the item, does the battery work with motor drive, or does motor drive cancel it out?
I'm almost completely sure the battery will work with motor drive, and thus it would be much better than expert belt. I would also replace Thunderpunch with Wild Charge, since it's excellent STAB.

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Timid, Levitate
252 Satk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
~Dragon Pulse
~Dark Pulse
~Flamethrower
~Surf

This is for the grass types that come in on Suicune. Should I Drop something for a boosting move, or is there not a very useful one?
That's a pretty good hydreigon moveset, and the only status move that would really help is substitute. Also consider choice specs

One thing I would reccomend is to give at least one Pokemon (Preferably Hydreigon) Substitute, because the battle subway is possibly the worst hax you will ever endure while playing pokemon. Don't be surprised when you're opponent's pokemon survives a surf from your Suicune after six calm minds using a focus band, and then proceeding to get a critical hit and ruin your suicune. Overall though, this team looks like it can withstand a lot of different battle subway teams, and it looks pretty good. Just beware the hax :frustrated:

[color=#BF0000]Miltank is a great lead indeed. I would consider ditching seismic toss for Return since Miltank's got pretty good attack, and it will usually do more than Seismic. Up to you though.

Zeus (Borutorosu) (M) @ Leftovers

Psychic could be replaced with either Grass Knot or HP Ice if you want, since it's not that useful of a move in most cases. I would make the nature Timid if I were you. And you could ditch Sub for Protect since Tornadus ain't got the best defenses in the world.

Karp PISSED! (Gyarados) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate

Classic Gyarados. Gotta love it.

You might find Thunder Wave more useful than two stabs, but it comes down to personal preferences. Most people just use one, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with using two :)

Wind Skar (Skarmory) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef

Whirlwind takes advantage of the Spikes, and is useful in getting rid of pokes trying to raise their stats.
I had a stall-off with one of these things for about half an hour, and can honestly tell you it is the MOST annoying Skarmory set I've ever faced. I would ditch protect for roost, but that's just me and my love for the Toxic+Roost combo.

Main problem is the lack of Roost recovery, but I can usually do pretty good without it.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

- Surf
- Psychic

Overall, this team looks pretty balanced, just a few minor changes. Hope I helped.

Hi. For clarification, this is my plan for my team. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but I have the Macho Brace, EV Bands, some of the Battle Items, a lot of Vitamins/Wings, plenty of cash, and I'm in the process of hatching each Pokemon egg w/egg moves(I've already got Larvesta and Bulbasaur!). I can change it though, if necessary. DISCLAIMER: Not very original. I'd rather not change any of them Pokemon, but to make the best of them. Alright, here we go:

1. Volcarona ♂ (Bug/Fire) @ Expert Belt (Image)
Image
Nature: Modest [EV's: 0 HP - 0 ATK - 6 DEF - 252 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 252 SPD]
Ability: Levitate
-Hyper Beam
-Bug Buzz
-Heat Wave
-Quiver Dance

>Yes, it's pretty much a copy of Addler's Volcarona-Please see the disclaimer regarding unoriginality. Move-wise, this is a basic setup that everybody and their hamster is doing, but I'm more concerned about the EV Distribution and Item Held. I'm extremely new to this whole EV stuff, not going to lie. I wanted him to be my lead...

2. Kingdra ♀ (Water/Dragon) @ Scope Lens (Image)
Image
Nature: Timid [EV's: 8 HP - 0 ATK - 98 DEF - 252 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 152 SPD]
Ability: Sniper
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Signal Beam

>Another Special Sweeper? Yeah. I wasn't sure where to put the 98 EV's I had, so I picked DEF. Should I have put 252 in SPD and the rest in DEF? That would be just a Water-version of my Volcarona...although they are similar already (in terms of battle-roles). Scope Lens are there to assist his Sniper Ability.

3. Venusaur ♂ (Grass/Poison) @ Zoom Lens (Image)
Image
Nature: Brave [EV's: 8 HP - 252 ATK - 124 DEF - 0 SPATK - 124 SPDEF - 2 SPD]
Ability: Overgrow
-Earthquake
-Sludge Bomb
-Power Whip
-Double Edge

>I realized that the 2 in SPD does absolutely nothing, but whatever! I mainly have Venusaur for DEF/SPDEF and high ATK (I think that's a "tank"). I feel like this is my best planned one. EV's are alright, move's are decent, good nature...right? Or did I miss something? Zoom Lens is in place to accommodate the low accuracy of some moves.

4. Eelektross ♂ (Electric) @ Leftovers (Image)
Image
Nature: Jolly [EV's: 6 HP - 252 ATK - 0 DEF - 0 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 252 SPD]
Ability: Levitate
-Wild Charge
-Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide
-Brick Break

>Like Venusaur, Eelektross is meant to hit hard. However, I wanted his speed to by higher then Venusaur's. A "Physical Sweeper"...right? I put the Leftovers there for lack of better itme...haha. Anyways, I'm not sure whether I should invest EV's in DEF/SPDEF...

5. Metagross (Normal) @ Wide Lens (Image)
Image
Nature: Jolly [EV's: 0 HP - 252 ATK - 6 DEF - 0 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 252 SPD]
Ability: Clear Body
-Earthquake
-Meteor Mash
-Zen Headbutt
-Explosion/Return/Body Slam

>Yet ANOTHER "Physical Sweeper". I'm not really going for any particular strategy in this party, just a team that isn't even a team...they could hold on their own against someone/something. Anyways, I gave him Wide Lens because his speed is too high for Zoom Lens. Well...I've used all three lenses! I'm undecided on the 4th move. What should I do?

6. Snorlax ♂ (Normal) @ Chesto Berry (Image)
Image
Nature: Careful [EV's: 252 HP - 0 ATK - 124 DEF - 0 SPATK - 128 SPDEF - 0 SPD]
Ability: Thick Fat
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Body Slam
-Crunch/Earthquake/Return/Self-Destruct/(???)

>What am I doing here? I'm not sure. I really like Snorlax, BUT this is the only Pokemon on here that I am willing to change. I wanted him to fufil the same role I've made him do in every generation I've had - annoy. Not the battling "annoying" with toxic, spikes, whirlwind, roar, wil-o-whisp, etc., but the annoying as in he won't go down. That is....a "Wall"? Or a "Sponge"? Please tell me if you have a good replacement...

[/color]Hyper Beam is utterly and completely useless. Yes the power is high and damage is pretty neutral, but it requires you to waste a turn, which can often be crucial and even decide the game. Basically you just gave your opponent's Gyarados or Haxorus or whatever enough time to set up and crush your team. Ditch Hyper Beam and go with Psychic. Also, you might find Leftovers, sitrus berry, or Life Orb useful for the Item. Volcarona is my favorite pokemon, and I use a sitrus berry.

2. Kingdra ♀ (Water/Dragon) @ Scope Lens (Image)
Image
Nature: Timid [EV's: 8 HP - 0 ATK - 98 DEF - 252 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 152 SPD]
Ability: Sniper
-Dragon Pulse

-Signal Beam

I like this Kingdra, and it's actually really original. I would ditch the Speed Ev's and make him Modest though. Then beef up the HP ev's since HP is one of Kingdra's weaker stats. Sniper plus the Zoom Lens makes for a sweet wallbreaking combo, I really like it. Signal beam isn't really useful though, I would go with perhaps Rest or something. Also you might find use for Scald instead of Surf, which is less powerful but has a pretty sweet 30% burn rate.

3. Venusaur ♂ (Grass/Poison) @ Zoom Lens (Image)
Image
Nature: Brave [EV's: 8 HP - 252 ATK - 124 DEF - 0 SPATK - 124 SPDEF - 2 SPD]
Ability: Overgrow
-Earthquake
-Sludge Bomb
-Power Whip
-Double Edge

EV's are alright, move's are decent, good nature...right? Or did I miss something? Zoom Lens is in place to accommodate the low accuracy of some moves.

This is kind of a crappy moveset, but I really like the concept. If you ditched zoom lens for black sludge, then replaced sludge bomb with Leaf Storm and Power Whip with a different move, (sleep powder anyone? :D ) you could have yourself a pretty nice Venusaur.

4. Eelektross ♂ (Electric) @ Leftovers (Image)
Image
Nature: Jolly [EV's: 6 HP - 252 ATK - 0 DEF - 0 SPATK - 0 SPDEF - 252 SPD]
Ability: Levitate
-Wild Charge
-Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide
-Brick Break

>Like Venusaur, Eelektross is meant to hit hard. However, I wanted his speed to by higher then Venusaur's. A "Physical Sweeper"...right? I put the Leftovers there for lack of better itme...haha. Anyways, I'm not sure whether I should invest EV's in DEF/SPDEF...

Eelektross is actually, erm... really slow. Even with all the ev's. If you want fast physical electric power, go for Electivire or Zebstrika. Not that Eelektross is a bad pokemon, you just need to ditch the speed ev's, beef up the defense, and reconsider the moveset. Coil is an awesome move for this mon, and Dragon claw could be replaced with Dragon Tail for phasing power.

How about, for the fourth move, you use Agility? Again, this thing's not really fast enough to sweep on its own, so Agility or Rock Polish can make this thing nice and speedy. You could also then move some of the speed ev's into defense and make the nature adamant. Wide lens is decent support, since a Meteor Miss can f :censored: :censored: k up your entire sweep.

Aha, very nice :D You don't really nead the chesto berry with sleep talk, and trust me, leftovers just make this thing even more of a problem. As for the last move, go for Curse. Pumps up his lackluster defense and his already beastly attack to levels that can be used to crush almost anything

This looks pretty good. The only one on here that really won't work is Eelektross. I would reccomend switching him for a fast sweeper, like electivire, infernape, jolteon, whatever you want really. Pure speed is something this team kind of lacks, and I think a Jolteon could be a great team player on here. Of course if you really want to leave Eelektross on there and aren't willing to change any of them, you can, but I would change the moveset. I understand, I've made favorite pokemon teams before, and they normally end up being a lot of fun. That's my opinion, do what you want with it ;) hope I helped

I actually havent actually trid this team out yet, simply becaue there are a few kinks I think may need working out.. and Xatu and Sharpedo still need to be Ev trained and the moves sets still. All movsets from GAme FAq .com, guide written by aragornbird.

Xatu
252 Hp/252 def/ 6 Spdef
Bold NAture
Item Light clay
Ability MAgic Bounce
Reflect
Light screen
U-Turn
WIsh/Roost

Sets up screens during first two turns, then Uses U-turn to swap out. Im currently depating between Wish (for ally heal) and Roost (self heal). Xatu can also be switched in due to magic bounce on pokes you know are gonna us a status move ( For example, in the battel subway, most opponet electric types us Thunder wave on the firts turn) thus protecting my team.

Meinshoa
6hp/252 att/252 speed
Jolly nature
ABility= Regerator
item= Wide lens
Fake out
High jump kick
Stone edge
U-turn

This is still my best physical sweeper, and will benefit from the screens set up by Xatu. Firts turn Fake out, the nwhich ever move will do the most damage. U-turn to run from Psychic and flying types. Wide lens helps with Hi-jump kick and Stone edge's low accuracy. Biggets problem with Meinshoa isa that its has low defensises

Sharpedo
6 Hp/252 Att/252v Speed
Adamant NAture
Ability= Speed Boost
Item= life orb
waterfall
EQ/Ice fang
Crunch
Protect

What is shown above is a move set for a physical sweeper. Im am debating betwwen this moveset are a more mixed moveset. I would aslo like to swap out Life orb, becasue im not a fan of it (unless the poke has an ability to nutralize the negative effects or has some bulk to it) . Anywasy WaterFall and Crunch for STAb. EQ for electric types and power (Ice Fang is an option, but id ratehr take the power of EQ) protect allows for a free speed boost. Sharpedo also covers Meinshoa's psychic weakness.

Well there is the team im thinking about .I guess my biggest question mark is Sharpedo. Keep it a physical sweeper or make it a mixed. Thanks for the help in advance.

Truly sorry, but I can't rate this without knowing the Ev's and Iv's. If you want to learn about Ev's and Iv's, go to http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/24412/t ... -6th-edit/
This is a very helpful guide. Then, I will be happy to rate your team.

Now for the next one...

Xatu is probably good here, although he will have some issues when it comes to pokemon it's weak to. Considering this game likes to spam Tyranitars at you roughly 1 out of every 5 matches, I would give this thing some speed ev's and a jolly nature to deal with that. You'll still be getting screwed over by stuff like Jolteon, but you can always of course switch out. Also, I would go with roost on this guy.

This guy looks pretty good. You might want to consider putting the Lorb on him instead of Sharpedo, as the HP cut is not a big deal thanks to regenerator, and wide lens is just not that helpful in the battle subway. This looks great other than that.

With speed boost, Mixed Sharpedo would be pretty beastly. You could give it way fewer speed ev's that way in favor of special attack. Plus, Sharpedo can use Hydro Pump that way, which hits ridiculously hard coming off his Special Attack. The physical one is definitely going to hit harder though, and you should ditch Ice fang for EQ as you previously stated. The biggest problem I see here is the lack of defense/bulk; none of these guys can take hits particularily well, which makes the screen setup critical. You could consider Bronzong rather than Xatu for this role, because despite how much I love Xatu, his defenses and typing are very good, and you've already got Mienshao for U-Turn. As far as the items go, your Sharpedo and Mienshao will both benefit from Life Orb, but it's really up to you. Hope I helped.

I never even considered bronzong. It got completely blocked out when I saw Xatu's Ability. Ill check out what I can do with one.

As for Meinshao, I personally like Wide lens a bit better, and havent really had any trouble with wide lens on it, in the battle subway.

I guess Ill make a physcial sharpedo since after a couple million soft resets on my Second speed boost cravannha just kept on producing adamant or some defensive type nature.. But man a mixed sharpedo would be something scary.

I Thank you for your help Blastoise_ex. I greatly appreciate it.

Let's give you something to do.

[Game]: Pokemon Online
[Team Theme]: UU
[Battling Environment]: Single Battle
[Team Preview]: On, Sadly
[Restrictions]: None.
[Reply]: Post.

This team has currently got me ranked around 300~ goes up and down slightly on Pokemon Online Wifi UU. And for a guy with no real talent for this game, I think that pretty damn good.

Image (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 104 Def / 252 SAtk / 152 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Protect
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This guy is normally my lead. Yanmega is one of those Pokemon that people don't really seem to know how to manage. Alot of standard leads who would normally just Spike/SR attempt to hit him instead of getting on with their jobs and are then normally 2HKO'd (normally without help from the focus sash so I can come back in later on). Really i'd like Wish support on the team with him, but I can see Chansey, who was on this team until recently, being bumped up to OU soon so I'm getting used to life without my favourite pink egg blob.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Rest
- Scald
- Ice Beam

CroCune, sort of, basically, the bulkiest thing in UU after it's got some Calm minds under it's belt. Max defence and Scald to make sure I can take the Physical side. Rest for healing, just have to make sure I play this guy right so I can get some Calm minds up before I rest. Crit hax is this things worst enemy but there is still no other Pokemon on my team I'd rather have as my last. Saved my ass many a time i can asure you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

My alternate lead, sole entry hazard user and rapid spinner. In short, my utility pokemon. Does his job well, not much I can say other than that really. Stone Edge and Earthquake for maximum coverage, Maximum Def and HP because he is my primary Physical Wall, because I prefer to hold Suicune back for the tail end of the battle. Can't help but feel that he needs reliable recovery, but it's a small price to pay for what is most commonly the most reliable pokemon on my team.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Focus Blast
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

My resident "I'mma hit you really hard on the switch regardless of whether you resist my leaves or not" Pokemon. Nobody really expects a Sceptile to earn a place on competitive team so they generally go to their standard Grass counters. Modest, Choice Specs Leaf Storm are going to hit you hard regardless unless your names Blissey/Chansey, who aren't UU so there is no issue there. Everything else is just for coverage, considering HP Water/Rock/Ground over Fire to hit Fires harder, but generally Fires are handled quite easily by Suicune and Donphan anyway. My main Special Sweeper.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Now, I couldn't resist using this guy when I found out he was UU, ridiculously over powered in this tier can OHKO practically everything with help from Life Orb. Snow Cloak for some Luck Hax as Abomasnow and Hail run rampant in UU. My only revenge killer so is important to the team, play him carefully until the end of the battle at which point I start firing out Earthquakes indiscriminately. Icicle Crash for STAB, Stone Edge for coverage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Image (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Substitute
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Another ridiculously over powered UU Pokemon. A lovely typing granting him 9 resistances and 2 immunities giving him ample opportunities to switch in. Generally gets used exactly the same way every battle, switch in on Bulky Waters, Swords Dance and then proceed to Sucker Punch away. If the opponent doesn't attack, then use Substitute. On the other hand, Weavile is this things worst enemy, Resisting Sucker Punch and then OHKO'ing with Brick Break. If the other team has a Weavile, use Substitute on the switch in and then Iron Head if he does show his face. This thing can run through entire teams that aren't prepared for him, especially if he finds time to get a Second Swords Dance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In general I like this team, it suits me well and works. Afew issues I have though, if Suicune Dies, Fires, Arcanine especially, can tear throw pretty quick. Weavile is another real issue, hitting most of my team for Super Effective damage. Frosslass leads also ruin my set-up but thats neither here nor there. Anyway, any suggestions to improve my team and try and counter my serious issues are much appreciated.

This looks really good, glad you know how to use this thing. The ev's are good too. You might want a different hidden power to hurt fire-types.

I'm a pretty big fan of Crocune myself, I always found surf more useful than scald because Suicune is really defensively bulky, especially in UU. The extra damage helps in many situations, but it's really up to you.

Other than lacking good Stab, the attacks look good, stone edge is not always reliable but Forretress has a lot of defense anyways so if it misses it's not a big deal. Initially I thought spikes might be more useful but rocks hurt fire-types more, which your team needs. A few atk ev's wouldn't be too bad of an idea either, but this is definitely a great wall.

I could see this thing wrecking in UU. It's got great coverage, and outspeeds most stuff, although you won't be able to do much about fires, so as you said, switching to suicune will mitigate that weakness. Although, that kinda contradicts your whole strategy of saving suicune for late game, so just be careful. Hidden Power Ground could help in that regard, also, just a thought.

Hmm... Another fire weakness. The set's good, as is snow cloak, but I'm not really sure what the deal is with that Ev spread and Adamant. I don't have a ton of experience in UU but since swine is a base 80 you might be better with jolly. You know more about UU than I do though, my only real concern here is the fire weakness.

SD sucker punch is really annoying, first of all. You might want to ditch him for absol, so that you don't have five fire weaknesses, although Bisharp is bulkier. Also, Absol has a better movepool.

My suggestions to counter the fire weaknesses are HP ground/rock on Sceptile, which will crush switch-ins and most likely 2hko anything fire, as well as Absol, although I definitely see the use of Bisharp. Absol can also crush Weavile without much difficulty using Superpower, and it has higher attack than Bisharp. Other than that, just keep your Suicune protected at all costs, and get rocks up asap to hurt fire-types. Enjoy.

I forgot Absol existed if I'm perfectly honest XD

I'm going to have to play alot cleverer with him as I lose the Bulk but I think he'll work out better, especially getting Subs up faster than Bisharp to scout for attacks.

I also decided Mamoswine wasn't doing much for the team, so he's out and Cofagrigus is in to hopefully counter Weavile and to be a very good physical wall in general.

Cofagrigus (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Haze

Absol (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any suggestions on what I can replace Sceptile with aswell? He's good but I feel there might be better options. I've played Ou for so long I can't think of anyone off of the top of my head XD

EDIT: Scratch that. This Durant...

Durant (M) @ Wide Lens
Trait: Hustle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Hone Claws
- Iron Head
- X-Scissor
- Stone Edge

Has replaced Absol as he proved to be to fragile during testing. He was never able to get a Swords Dance up safely. Has improved the performance but still require more testing.

And this Rotom...

Rotom-H @ Lagging Tail
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Trick

Has replaced Sceptile. I have Trick + Lagging Tail to absolutely ruin Weavile, when he can't hit first he's absolutely useless. Overheat for Weavile too, obviously.

Need some more testing, but it seems to be working.

Hmm.... I started over again, I just want to know your opinion of my Ninetales:

{ninetales} @ Wide Lens
EVs: 72 HP / 216 SpAtk / 220 Speed
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Hypnosis
- Energy Ball
- Extrasensory

This is usually my lead pokemon for friendly matches and for Battle Hall (Good Coverage). Hypnosis + Energy Ball makes wonders against Water Pokemon.

Im just unsure if I will go with:
@ Wide Lens (Particularly for FireBlast + Hypnosis Accuracy)
OR
@ Life Orb / Leftovers (with Flamethrower?)

I think, especially if you're wanting to target water types, that you should go with wide lens and Fire Blast. Also, have you considered using Overheat for your fire move? It can OHKO a lot of stuff that doesn't resist it, and it has decent accuracy.

For the past few weeks, I've been trying to perfect out the UU team I've been using hence my inactiveness here. Hopefully the Team Rates of this forum could help perfect my team further more.

[Game]: Pokemon Online
[Team Theme]: 5th Gen UU
[Battling Environment]: Smogon Laddering
[Team Preview]: On
[Restrictions]: Standard Smogon Rules.
[Reply]: Post
[Achievements]: Peaked #1 on PO Server , #5 on Smogon , #3 on PBC

Image
Uxie @ Leftovers
Levitate
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Heal Bell
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn

Standard lead Uxie. Also functions as a Cleric to get rid of statuses on my Sweepers while also being able to hinder the opposing Sweepers. Can also take physical hits pretty decently so it kinda functions as a wall as well.

Image
Ferroseed @ Eviolite
Iron Barbs
252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Substitute
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed

Second Hazards set up. Due to my team's potential in offense and speed, coupled with the 25% the layers of Spikes do and also with SR, its pretty much game over if I set up. Gave it more SDef bulk instead of Def to take Special Hits that may be potentially aimed at Uxie once they see that its max Def bulky. With eviolite, this thing gains more bulk then Ferrothorn causing it to be as much of a pain as his evolved form. Leech Seed also works out to force switches to maybe get a free switch in to something else.Gyro Ball is used over Seed Bomb because of my lack of Thunder wave (speed differences), and its power is much higher than Seed Bombs. Again, the Eviolite helps a hell of a lot, boosting his defences to 363 (def) and 405 (sdef). Both are higher than a Ferrothorns of the same EVs, but Ferroseeds HP is reasonably lower.

Image
Dusclops @ Eviolite
Pressure
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Confuse Ray
- Will-O-Wisp
- Seismic Toss
- Pain Split

Spinblocker which also works as a Spdef wall to to absorb the Fire moves aimed at Ferroseed while also having relatively good Def bulk.As my team functions around the presence of hazards, I can NOT let my opponent spin them away or the momentum of this team is severely broken.WoW to cripple physical attackers/walls, Seismic Toss to deal reasonable damage, Confuse Ray to get more residual damage off, Pain Split is pretty much self-explanatory.

Image
Hitmonlee @ Normal Gem
Unburden
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

With the constant number of Unbuden Sceptiles going about, I realised that Hitmonlee gets Unburden as well and also has a higher attack stat then Sceptile giving it the ability to hit hard without having to set up.ax Attack'd Normal Gem Fake Out will deal significant damage while not allowing the opponent to retaliate. Using Fake Out de-activates my Normal Gem, so I have no item. This activates Unburden, doubling my speed from 273 to 546. This is fast enough even to outspeed most Stoutland in the sand. Close Combat, Stone Edge and Earthquake give good coverage.

Image
Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Speed Boost
156 Atk / 244 SAtk / 108 Spd
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Protect
- Hydro Pump
- Crunch
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Mixedpedo. One of the best Mixed Sweepers out there currently imo. Coupled with speed boost, this thing can easily mow through teams and alongside Hitmonlee, the duo are one of the best formidable defensive breaking cores. The only thing that can wall this thing with ease is Chansey with Eviolite. And theres Hitmonlee for that. While Dusclops walls Hitmonlee, Sharpedo comes in and crunches it to the point where it is forced to recover, in which the most common form of recovery for Dusclops is Pain Split, so I can send in one of my injured members to get healed as well/ giving it less recovery.Hydro Pump is for STAB, HP fire for Ferroseeds and that kind of stuff, and Crunch for STAB also.

Image
Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Trick
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Volt Switch

It's the trick scarfing that gives it the most success here, however. Pokemon like Chansey, Sableye, Ferroseed and Dusclops won't appreciate the locked and limited move choice. The attacks listed in the set have fairly good coverage with 2 STABs and one filler move. Overheat being very overpowered can deal a lot of damage, but used in succession isn't the best idea because of the Special attack drop. Volt Switch is used to scout, and hidden power ground is there for coverage.

Looks good, Mental herb for the item may be better to set up on taunt.

Dusknoir should be in UU now if you want to use less eviolite, but dusclops is fine. Taunt over confuse ray to prevent pokes with instant recover a set-up chance. Also hits Foresight Hitmontop on the switch-in.

HJK may work better over CC for more power as ghosts will likely come in on fake out, also CC drops make him more vulnerable to priority moves.

HP ice for coverage to pokes like Flygon and Eviolite Gligar. otherwise fine.

Overall team looks good, typing and coverage is good. With the focus on entry hazards you may want a phazer in the team to rack up damage.

Leftovers will end up being better in the long run. Unless my opponent is running some weird set on a poke who I'll never expect Taunt from, I'll normally U-turn out.

Had a hard time deciding over extra bulk or constant recovery. The extra bulk ended up being more useful due to the fact it can take some crucial hits that Dusknoir sometimes cant.

As you have said, Ghost comes in on Fake Out. However, if I reveal HJK, they'll take advantage of that and it takes predicting around harder, sometimes causing unnecessary overpredictions which may be game changing.

Good suggestion. Might try it out some time.

Team Preview:
More so in 3vs3 but also in 6vs6 the pokes shown can influence what pokes/strategy my opponent is likely to use against me, so each poke's place is set with this in mind.

Milotic: Not a common lead, most assume Bronzong is my team's lead for the ability to set up SR. Milotic counters many pokes aimed at countering Bronzong and functions as a good lead itself.

Latias: Typically restrains slower dragons from being selected in 3vs3 and lure steels in to resist dragon. HP fire and Hitmontop/Gliscor both do well handling steel-types.

Hitmontop: Most assume a rapid spiner, so ghosts will usually use hitmon to switch in. Hitmontop also keeps shell smash Cloyster at bay.

Bronzong: Levitate is assumed, so along with Hitmontop/Gliscor/Latias spikes/TSpikes becomes a lesser option to play. Many assume as the lead.

Porygon2: Trace is assumed, so offensive pokes with volt absorb/flash fire tend to restrain their STABs at first, fearing it will switch in. Special walls like Blissey, Rotom-W, Volcarona like to wait for P2 to come in to come set up, Return handles these pokes well OHKOing the latter two if they're without def investment.

Gliscor: Gliscor lures ice users to take him down along with Latias, P2 can tank the unstabed hits well and returns with Discharge/Return, while Hitmontop/Milotic can handle STAB and Ice shard and can threaten back with Mach punch and Scald.

Image Kabayaki
Sassy @ Leftovers
Marvel Scale
214HP 216Def 80S.atk
-Scald
-Ice beam
-Magic coat
-Dragon tail

-Anti-lead, Phazer

Milotic does well in the lead spot for it's bulk and access to magic coat/dragon tail. Magic coat reflects SR, Taunt, Spikes, Toxic, Spore and Encore. Stat boosters and BPers are removed with Dragon tail. Scald/Ice beam gives good coverage and the burn rate deters physical pokes from switching in. 214HP hits the highest leftover number+1 while the 80S.atk hits enough to almost always OHKO Garchomp and all but the most Specially defensive Gliscor with Ice beam. Latias can switch in on both of Milotic's weakness and threaten with CM or Draco meteor, while using HP fire to handle Ferrothorn. Gliscor can also switch in on electric pokes and activate it's poison heal.

Image Raspberry
Timid @ Lum berry
Levitate IVs 30S.atk 30Spd
12HP 252S.atk 244Spd
-Calm mind
-Psyshock
-Draco meteor
-Hidden power (Fire)

-CM "mixed" sweeper

Latias has beautiful type synergy with the rest of my team, resisting at least one weakness of everyone else and vice versa. So coming in and grabbing a CM or two is easy, Lum makes this even easier to set up on a status move. Psyshock is the standard attack, hitting special walls hard in their defense. Draco meteor is insanely powerful and can be used safely with CMs neutralizing the recoil. HP fire allows Latias to take out Scizor and Ferrothorn quickly, since both are lured in to resist psychic/dragon. Heatran walls this combination but lacks anything to hit Latias back other than HP Ice. Speed is enough to outpace max 108's due to HP fire's imperfect speed IV.

Should note Latias was chosen over Latios due to the team's theme and less likely to be banned in the future.

Image Basil
Adamant @ Black belt
Technician
252HP 252Atk 4def
-Mach punch
-Sucker punch
-Aerial ace
-Close combat

-Revenge killer, Cleaner

Conkeldurr would probably fit the team theme better... But Hitmontop is my bro and does have a few nice advantages over Conkel. A stronger 1st turn Mach punch, (and Conkel's Orb+guts punch is only 3% stronger then Tech+Black belt.) access to priority Sucker punch, and a better power move in Close combat. Aerial ace pairs well with Fighting to take out Grass/Bug counters and Ghosts/Psychics wary of Sucker punch.(Disable Gengar/CM-Reniculus) Evs spread is basic, max power and rest into bulk. Black belt is a gimmicky item, but the power from it is fine and it tends to trick opponents into thinking I'm a choice/lum user, both thoughts which benefit this set.

Image Kettle
Relaxed @ Choice band
Heatproof IV's 0spd
252HP 136Atk 60Def 60S.def
-Trick
-Toxic
-Payback
-Earthquake

-Secondary lead, Anti-Stall, Anti-Sweeper

With Levitate's usage between 75-90% depending on time/tier, many gevV steels 2-4x weak to fire, and two others on the team immune to ground, Heatproof Bronzong works out great to tank the usual anti-steel fire/fight moves and retaliate with a strong offensive. CB trick and Toxic ruins walls and stall based teams. Payback means I'm STABless but with 372 attack it fares well to Air balloon Chandelure, Reniclus, Jellicent, and gives hope to beating Gyarados, Rotom-W-H and Thundurus. EQ gives decent alongside coverage. 136 attack is enough behind CB to OHKO 4/0 Ninetales with EQ, while only taking 53-60% from a drought boosted fire blast.

Image Foie Gras
Brave @ Eviolite
Download
252HP 232Atk 24Def
-Return
-Recover
-Ice beam
-Discharge

-Mixed tank

A set I made a few years ago that failed to work well became amazing this gen with Eviolite. Download allows me to sniff out the weaker defense of a mixed wall and either launch off a STAB return off 420 Attack (Stronger than a max attack Metagross Meteor mash) or a Boltbeam combo off 369 S.atk (higher than max 115 base.) While having both defenses over 330. General Eviolite pokes invest in Def/S.def over HP for a better boost, but with this set the difference is a minimal 4-6% total bulk and fares much better if the eviolite is lost. Discharge over T-bolt for the Paralysis rate.

Image Plum
Jolly @ Toxic orb
Poison heal
4HP 252Atk 252Spd
-Protect
-Swords dance
-Rock slide
-Earthquake

-SD sweeper, Staller, Status wall

Gliscor is easy to bring in on P2's fight weakness and get her toxic orb activated. From there protect to scout and restore HP, SD when it's safe, and sweep with Ground/Rock. Milotic can tank either of her weaknesses when needed and can make a good defensive pair as Gliscor can handle electric and status should magic coat be too risky. Rock Slide over Stone edge for the flinch rate, as it leads to even more stall healing.

As of current I'm happy with this team, and it has won 18-1 3vs3 battles and 4-0 6vs6 thus far. But the two weakness I would like to work on is handling rain and water-types better and having a better defense against sandstream teams, especially sand-stall.

Trace won't be assumed since they can see if it traced or not when it comes in.

Icequake for better coverage.

Trace's usage is 81% currently, so in team preview is a "safe" assumption they with think it's a trace variant.

Eccentric wrote:

I went with this originally but opted to rock since the team already has two good Ice beamers. and with poison heal she can handle Breloom/Flygon decently or give Milotic/P2 a good chance to switch in.

1) Image (F) @ Wide Lens
EVs: 72 HP | 216 SpAtk | 220 Speed
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Hypnosis
- Energy Ball
- Extrasensory

-> Usually my lead. I Hypnotize the enemy and then hit them; or change to a type-weakness pokemon. So far my Ninetales is perfect; depending on the accuracy of my Hypnosis, my Ninetales can defeat a Battle Tower trainer alone. And a decent surprise for water switch-ins. He tends to survive a lot, so I prefer Fire Blast than Overheat.

2) Image (M) @ Life Orb
EVs: 144 HP | 252 SpA | 112 Spd
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- Aqua Jet
- Protect (Mirror Coat?)
- Hydropump
- Ice Beam

-> I can depend on him to defeat anything. With no Electric/Grass Pokemon, he usually deal with the Water Pokemon. Not willing to change anything, though not sure to use Protect or Mirror Coat.

3) Image (M) @ Leftovers
EVs: 200 HP | 58 Atk | 252 SpD
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Bullet Punch
- X-Scissor
- Brick Break
- Swords Dance

-> I tried to be creative, ended with the an exact Smogon Moveset. He is there to finish the tank's and usually Dance on sleeping Pokemon (after Ninetales's Hypnosis).

4) Image @ (Bright Powder?)
EVs: 20 HP / 242 SpAtk / 244 Speed
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Ancient Power
- Reflect
- Roost

-> I do not know which moveset to take for him. Either an Attacker or Support. As an attacker he can KO opponents with ease, but if he didn't OHKO Fire/Rock pokemon then he is a goner. Reflect and Roost are rarely used, unless the pokemon in front is not effective against Ice. As a support/stall I think it might do better, but I don't know. His 4x Rock weakness is just heart-breaking.

OR
4) Image (F) @ (?)
EVs: 8 HP / 252 SpAtk / 250 Speed
Modest Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Wish
- Baton Pass

-> Another great Ice-Beamer. Hidden Power Grass is due to the lack of Water attackers. Not sure about the other 2 movesets, but Baton Pass helps keep it alive by switching to Blastoise or Flygon (In case of Fire).

5) Image (M) @ (Muscle Band?)
EVs: 252 Atk | 6 SpD | 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpA)
- Fire Punch
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake

-> Good STAB Earthquake and type coverage. Fire Punch is in case of Bronzong, and Draco Meteor is for dragons.

6) Image (M) @ Occa Berry
EVs: 102 HP | 164 Atk | 244 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Spd, -SpA)
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar (Rock Polish?)

-> This spot is open for other pokemon. As I do not want another Fire weakness. His basic role is to set Stealth Rock if Ninetales doesn't go first. Though too slow to survive a third hit and counter, I think I might change onto a Rock Polish moveset.

The Items need to be different for each Pokemon, so I need help on items too. I prefer no Choice items, unless necessary.
