Post Happiness evolution
Quick question:

I know Golbat evolves into Crobat because of happiness, but do you need the Nat'l Dex before it can evolve or can it just evolve whenever you max its happiness?

The National Dex necessary, otherwise the evolution will abruptly stop.

Well, you can get Yanmega, Lickilicky, Tangrowth, and Mamoswine before getting the Nat'l dex in HGSS. So Happiness should work the same, right?

No, evidently they changed that from FRLG to HGSS.
