Gen III's Safari Zone was NEAR PERFECT!
Pretty much everything in there consisted of the following:
-Pokemon you wouldn't be able to catch otherwise
-Pokemon who were too rare to dream of encountering in other areas
-Pokemon otherwise unobtainable from past Generations (this was probably due to the lack of connectivity)
-Pokemon from pat Gens who were loved by all but caught by few, simply because they were impossible to find

Yeah I agree Spoink, especially if your using Emerald as the example cause they were just flocking, just flocking with exclusives to that version & probably other Hoenn games as well...Emerald hands down had the best Safari Resort experience & I would love for Black & White to take a page out of Gen III's book in terms of how to handle the exclusives & the Safari Zone of their region (cause you know they are going to have one, period...)...

the best safari zones so far were emerald's and hgss. i just wish with hgss there were a) more pokemon to start b) they were higher-leveled to start and c) you didn't have to wait so long (three months is frickin' ridiculous)
if they combined the two, we'd have the most bomb safari zone ever.

Gen III probably had the best Safari because it could not be connected to the previous generations (I think?) until the advent of leaf green and fire red.
I doubt we'll see another good safari unless nintendo really wishes to give us one. Otherwise, it's just 'take-some-ten-to-fifteen-pokemon-you-could-already-find-in-other-routes,-throw-in-some-three-to-five-rare-but-stupid-pokemon-nobody-wants-and-it's-fine'.

I agree. I did like the Safari Zones in FRLG, but I also liked the one in Emerald. After all, it was practically the only place where you could find some Johto native Pokemon until HGSS.

So apparently there are going to be more differences between the games than just different pokemon. Which is good news, I think. Let's just hope the other differences are unlockable by a wifi event...
Speaking of wifi events, what if they did a wifi-event "Swarms" of certain pokemon that could only be caught on the other game?
Anyways, in the "new ways to evolve pokemon" thread, I had the idea of a pokemon that learned moves (and evolved based on the move it knew) based on the language of origin of the game - the moves themselves would be tutorable/TMs/and/or eggmoves, so you could get all the evolutions on any game with a little more work.
What if they did this based on game version instead? So Pokemon X learns, say, Dark Pulse at level 30 on Black, and Psychic at level 30 on White. If it knows Dark Pulse, it evolves to Pokemon X. if it knows Psychic, it evolves into Pokemon Z. If it knows both, ???? Maybe it can evolve into either, or maybe it evolves into Pokemon W, where W is different from X, Y, and Z, isn't preferable to Y or Z, but is itself still good? Or maybe it's a 3-stage evolution thing, and W is the 3rd stage and if X learns both moves, it evolves into W skipping the divergent middle stages, which would learn their own movesets?

Are you trying to be funny?
If so, you failed.
Not trying to be a jerk, really, just thought I'd let you know =/
On a separate matter, I LOVE Lolita Kirlia!
Whichever game she's in is the one I'm playing first!
Unless that new little Dragon dude is also an exclusive, and on the opposite game.
Then I'm playing that one.
HEY!
Wouldn't that be fantastic?
If there were two new 'Dragonite' families, and they were version exclusives?

don't say that crap, there's kids on this forum....
TWO DRAGONITE FAMILIEZ?! R U INSANEZ?! jk. that would be interesting.... but i think they shouldn't do it. everybody's going to go gaga (not the lady) over whoever the new one is; do we really need two of them?? one each gen is enough or me.
and go gummy bears.

Well in Gen III there was both and
And even though Beldum's family isn't Dragon-typed, I consider it part of that group.
Maybe they could just do another one of those.

Tyranitar wasn't dragon typed, and yet we know that it's part of that family. Plus, tho both of those evolved in the high forties, the way i think of the dragonite/tyranitar family-thingy is usually at around lvl 50-55.... but i guess you do have a point.... but neither of those were version-exclusive, so.... i don't know!!! lol

MY reasoning was scyther/snorlax both begin with S Natu/Buizel both are from an even numbered gen Magby/delibird both from gen 2 farfetch'd/nosepass both from an odd numbered gen that's the kind of logic GameFreak has with their game exclusives

'fraid Jaypokes is right. I could (if i could be bothered) whip up lots of different combos with that logic,
How many pokemon are from gen 2?
How many begin with S?
And basically your saying four version exclusives can be ANY with two from even numbered gen and 2 from odd numbered gen. I'm guessing the version exclusives won't have much thought behind them.
