My friend and I each have our own DS Lite. If we each play one the GBA games on our DS Lites, can we still trade Pokemon with each other, or do we have to migrate the Pokemon to a DS game such as Platinum, then trade wirelessly?

Game boy advance games, yes I believe you can trade? I'm not sure if those use the cords or not, I can't remember.
If you need the cord to trade(both of you just play the gba game and trade), then either use one or migrate and use the ds game to trade.

Only way to trade under these curcumstances is to trasnfer the pokemon you want to trade to DPPt or HGSS & then trade them using the 4th Gen games...Pros = you both have your pokemon, Cons = you can't ever use them in the 3rd Gen games again...

There's always the alternative of using Gameboys. If you only have one GBA, a thing you can do is trade the pokemon to a game on the game cube (provided you have a GBA-GCN cord), such as Colosseum or XD. Granted, its easier to just trade with two GBAs.
