If I try to run a toxic shuffle strategy against the Elite 4, will they just item heal? Or will the Toxic deplete health in a way that they never get a chance (ie, by the time they are in yellow health, the next poison damage KOs them?) How about a Para-fusion/ttraction strategy?

How about a Substitute-Mind Reader-Sheer Cold play? Do you think it would work in-game?

the e-4 is always happy to bust out full restores.

i would advise a calm mind or curse sweep or something along an self stat raising line.

I wouldn't do it mainly because one thing.

The E4 starts using full restores when their PKMN's health hits red. That's why the main strategy is to get them from yellow to fainted. Toxic isn't strong enough to do that.

I would say that non-damaging moves are less useful when used in in-game battles. There's no need to try to outsmart your foes because all they do is battle and use healing items. You'll do fine with direct-damage moves.
