Okay, so what I'm going to be doing here is I'm going to start a new game on my red version and document it all.

However, the entire game will be based on your opinions.

You will get to choose my party, what to name them, what pokemon to catch, who to train, what trainers to battle. All very necessary activities.
You'll soon get the hang of it I guess.

So, the first thing I need your input on is what starter to get.

My favorite is charmander, and I know alot of people like that particular pokemon, but I would like to choose a different starter because i happen to use it alot. :)

So this will be a poll on what starter to choose, and what to name him. So please, submit quickly!

ROCKET GRUNT

OH AND VERY IMPORTANT

If fred gets the most votes I will pick the starter, so vote wisely.

What a great idea!

Start: Bulbasaur (E4)

Catch: Pikachu (E4), Abra (E4), Pidgey, Gastly (E4), Lapras (E4), Aerodactyl (E4)

Being a "purist", I merely have this suggestion, to catch as many as you can in Red for our benefit.

As far as an E4 team, I would suggest the following...

{bulbasaur} Start:
Venusaur
Lapras
Raichu
Aerodactyl
Snorlax
Machamp

{charmander} Start:
Charizard
Poliwrath
Electrode
Exeggutor
Nidoking
Chansey/Kangaskhan

{squirtle} Start:
Blastoise
Electabuzz
Arcanine
Vileplume
Dragonite (if you can)
Jynx

Before I go too much further, this is only a recommendation (one that hasn't really been thought out too much, admittedly, but you should be able to get all of these in Red). The idea is certainly unusual, and good luck. I would never do something like this, so props to you, but I will keep my nose out of it. (Most people will think my "teams" crazy... But stay with the "catch 'em all" if you can... :D)

AEPMT  ;) 8-)

Well it seems that bulbasaur is leading with surprisingly 0 votes for charmander.

However, I'm not looking for an e4 team, my team is going to be composed of what you guys think best, your favorite pokemon, be they strong or weak.

Well since I'm eager to start playing I guess a good time to start will be now.

Names for the new starter?

Just keep it as Bulbasaur.

Don't evolve Pikachu.

Raichu is 10 times better than pikachu. Reason being is that pikachu's stats suck.

Which is the only thing that I didn't like about pokemon Yellow...

Anywho, do the whole game without training a Flying Type...I want you to use a {butterfree} or {beedrill} in your party, your choice...

Yes it may be true that it takes longer for raichu to learn moves, but just get the thunder tm and you're all set.

Raichu doesn't ever actually learn any moves as it gets it's moves exclusively from Pikachu before it evolves into it unless those moves come from TM/HM or something else if there even is something else in Pokemon Red to get it moves from...

Hate to remind you Lawence, Butterfree is a Flying Type, so if one of those went under your suggestion, it would have to be Beedrill... Although Weedle is more common in Red...

I'm aware...just don't consider Bug/Flying Type pokemon to be much of a Flying Type so I was making an exception...should have said something...but yeah, I like Beedrill anyway & I was also trying to find out which was more common in the original Red Version which is apparently Weedle so...

I say this, raise a Beedrill in your party...that will be awesome...

& FINALLY someone type my name the right way...

Considering my ethic background I would take that to offense but I just ain't that kind of person & I actually found it a little funny, just a little bit...
But no seriously, glad to see another typing Lawence(as in my username) properly...

Getting back on topic, this may be over doing it but ROCKET GRUNT, don't train a Ground Type...I want to hear how you beat Lt. Serge without one most likely using {bulbasaur} (I am just giving 1 vote for not using one here)...
