is very vunerable against Ice-Type attacks (Blizzard is a killer, and it and freeze you)
has close combat, keep that if you have to face water pokemon ( Gym Leader Wake is water)

You have 3 weak to Ground types, so something like Bertha's Gilgasor (sp?) could mess you up a bit.

I would drop Gyrados, because it is extremely weak to electric attacks, and you already have aerodactyl, so add kingdra, and drop garchomp, for a good strong ground pokemon like gliscor, cause he is immune to electricity, and ground. He also has a very high attack. So moves like earthquake, and X scissors are great with him. I have him on my pearl team, he is so awsome. Hope this helped.

Thanks for your advice.
I think I took a little different route, but see what you think.
I decided on leafeon b/c I needed a grass move for the two water/ground in the E4, and it takes .5 damage from ground and has very high defense.
My pokemon are ~36 right now before i head to snowpoint and I'm currently training gible and riolu from eggs.

#1 is the best i think but you should take #2's Vaporeon and replace golduck.

Yeah i was half asleep when writing the last post, but yeah, instead of having to choose between two sets, you should go about doing:
#1
#2 (for example)
#3
#4
#5 (for example)
#6
and choose one from each group.
I think you should go for- Charizard , Dragonite (garachomp is uber and frowned upon in competetive battling-if your not doing wifi battling, choose gtarachomp), Vaporeon, Tyranitar, Leafeon and Gengar.

I would go with the 2nd one but change
Vaporeon to Gengar and Leafeon to Golduck
