Hey, I thought this was kind of useful. You can do this to ev train any sweeper fairly quickly.
Needs:
~A pokemon that knows headbutt
~A pokemon that knows Surf
~Power Anklet
~Power Lens if special sweeper, Power Bracer if physical
To get headbutt, talk to the tutor in the Ilex forest. All the Power items can be bought @ the battle frontier for 16 BP.
1) Go to Azalea town and give your pokemon either the Power Lens or Bracer. Then, turn off the battle scene
2)Find a tree that can be headbutted.
3)Put the pokemon you want to train at the head of your party
4)Headbutt the same tree 63 times, defeating the pokemon in it each time.
5)Take the item from your Pokemon and head east for the Union Cave
6)Once you get to the union cave, surf on the pool inside it until you defeat enough Woopers and Quagsires to get 4 HP ev's (Either 2 Quagsires, 4 Woopers, or 2 Woopers and a Quagsire)
7) Go back to Azalea town and give your pokemon a Power Anklet.
8)Go to the same tree as before and headbutt it 39 more times (At this point it doesn't matter if you go over or lose track)
And thats it! You will end up with a sweeper that has 252 ATK/SATK, 254 SPD, and 4 HP EVs. You will be done in about an hour, maybe less
Please tell me if you think this guide is helpful

For some reason I found that when Headbutting in HGSS, the pokemon you find in the Tree is always the pokemon you find in that exact tree until you I don't know, leave the area or something...weird...however, they don't all give nowhere near the same EVs so it might not work depending on what is meant by it...

I don't see how battling random pokemon would work. You'd get wonky EV-spreads.
I just use the ones that the site lists under the EV Training guide. They're good when you combine them with one of those EV-boosters.

I said you have to headbutt ONLY THE TREES IN AZALEA TOWN. The only pokemon that appear there are Aipom and Spearow, both of which give you one speed ev. Its not just random pokemon, that's foolish
