I'm redo-ing fire-red because I wanted to have a truly powerfull elite 6. Now my opnion has differed slightly, first priority is that the pokemon are 'cool', power is second.
I started with charmander AKA charizard and have decided that Gyarados would be good addition to my team and later i added dragonite (still as dratini) and now i'm hunting down tyranitar (more precisely larvitar).
So My pokemon types are now Fire-Flying Water-Dragon Dragon-Flying and Dark-Rock.
I'm thinking of dropping dragonite seen as i already have his type's but he is cool.
Now finnaly my question and the reason you read all this: Can you mention what pokemon you would add to my collection. Also if you could add what move set you prefer
Concluding, please post if you agree that dragonite is a 'useless' addition.

PS
Please remember this is FireRed so no pokemon that are not catchable in this version please!

Gyarados is Water-Flying, not Water-Dragon as you stated. And Gyarados only learns three Dragon moves, Twister (which has a Base Damage of 40, and is pretty terrible in a finished moveset), Dragon Rage (which does a fixed 40 points of damage, and likewise is not a very good move), and Dragon Dance, which raises Attack and Speed by 1 level each (and is a good move, if you are using Gyarados as a physical sweeper, which is its strongest moveset type). So, I would NOT agree that Dragonite is a useless addition.

You are very right... :frustrated: I thought their must be a reason why i wanted dragonite. Lucky i'm still training my dratini (dragonair now). Thanks alot. Definitly keeping dragonite... other suggestions to add to my team?

A Vileplume, good suggestion but not very cool, any other comparable pokemon? How does venomoth compare to Vileplume in strength?

Gengar is nice... good piece of advice!

Referring to his team, not the E4. Ever noticed that they aren't even called the Elite 5? rolandvet knows this. That's why he's asking about the Pokemon on his team.

to be honest, because of the physical/special move split that hasnt happened yet venomoth is kinda limboish.

att:65 sp a. 90

very diverse moveset, but no real good special stab.

Also, the best set for venomoth in this gen would probably be: physic substiute, sunny day, solarbeam.

The problem is that venomoth cant take hits

Vileplume has a undiverse moveset but is much more bulkier and stronger and can take hits plus a special attack of 100.

If your going for power: Vileplume is your choice.

If your going for uniqueness: Venomoth is an excellent and interesting choice.

First of all, sorry for the wait on a reply.
Second. Thanks for all this great advice.

I'll give both venomoth and vileplume a try. Still training for the elite four... :D

{blastoise} {venusaur} {charizard} {alakazam} {pidgeot} {dragonite}

That's pretty E4 built looking team.
