I have a unown....
Ive got it in my party, and i got see the ruin manic in his little cave , and he says he wanted to race
I won...? But theres been no change at all,
ive tryed putting unown first in my party , and then talking to him , but still no luck
Can anyone advise on what i need to do?

If I recall, you have to catch the following Unown: F-R-I-E-N-D. Or something like that.

I think it was that you end up in Solaceon Town ruins in a secret room, and there are 4 items. Well, that's what I think, because I didn't play Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum in a while.

If I understand what you're talking about, you need to catch every single letter of Unown. Once you do, the Ruin Maniac will punch through the ruins into a secret room with a few items and "?" and "!" Unowns.

As it seems abit pointless, unless the items are worth it

Can't remember what's in there, or even if there's anything. Finding all the Unown's is nice, you get seals for showing them to someone, and then you get to catch the punctuation ones for shiggles. It's your choice, though.
