I borrowed my cousin's Pokemon Sapphire today, and when i first turned it on, it said:
"The internal battery has run dry, the game can be played, However, clock-based events will no longer occur".
What exactly does this mean will happen?

I believe the TV events like the Department store sale require the clock as well.
