Pressing A.

Of course, this is for when I have to capture legendaries with something other than a master ball. I've gotten all the pokemon anyway.

I always press A and B, i don`t know why, but i always do.

it's pretty weird but i have the volume half way and when the pokeball turns yellow, i blow into the mic. i caught dialga, palkia, and giratina by doing that!

I've used Down+B just as the ball closes ever since R/B, but in generation three I added pressing left and right in opposition to the ball shakes. The ball moves Right, Left, Right and at the precise moment of the shake I press the D pad in the opposite direction. I doesn't really do anything, but it's better than just sitting there doing nothing, hoping it doesn't pop out.

I used to hold down a when i played emerald but know I find myself holding down A when I throw the ball,then holding down B when the ball closes,then I hold down on the d pad the moment the ball hits the ground.Dunno if it affects anything but I feel more secure when I do it..

I turn off the volume and look away.

i rotate clockwise on the d pad and counter on the touch screen

I would always tap the A button like crazy OR just tap the A when the ball shakes. I also look away from the screen and just listen or hold my face super close to the screen so that I can't see anything. It's always so stressful :0
I remember once when I was really little and playing Gold or Silver on my Gameboy Color I couldn't win the final Rival battle so I took a pair of scissors and made a tiny scratch on the screen where his face showed up. 8D

I always turn the volume down and look away.

I use a Master Ball. Works every time.

I do this thing I read about back in the days of R/B/Y called "The B Code." What you do is select the ball and immediately hold B until the Pokemon is inside, then let go. Wait for the ball to twitch twice and then hold B again. I don't know if it really helps at all, but it does seem to work a lot.

I found holding "Down and A" has always worked for me.

And a masterball...lol

I have always used the B method since the days of R/B. I even find myself doing that now and saying gotcha in D/P/Pt.

From Yellow up until Fire Red, I would press Up+A as the ball goes flying, hold A, then as the pokeball closes, I would hold A+B. Seemed to work. Nowadays, I force myself to NOT press a button, since I don't like unnecessary button pressing anymore.

Aw, but half the fun of catching Pokemon is unnecessary button presses. Makes you think you're cheating with no actual method behind it.

I've got a habbit of pressing A when the pokemon is inside the pokeball :Z
And on pokemon colleseum before i've got the master ball i always press A and B in an attempt to make the catch better :Z never works though.

Well, what i usually do it throw a quick ball straight away and hold A and then B when the ball starts shaking. I used to do this with yellow(Pokeballs, not quick balls obvs), i think it is force of habit

Since I first got red oh so long ago, I have held B+Down. I know it has no game effect, but it is just old habit for me.

wen i had blue version or gold version i would just keep pressing the A button and quickly then after i had saphire ruby and emerald i holded the A + L + down right when the ball was thrown. i think it works bcuz wen i tried catchin a pokemon without doin nothing it broke free.

I usually just beg. You should hear me when I am playing "Please!!! PLEEEEASE!!! I want you to be in my team!!!!!!!" XD

Oh, and I once threatened to slam the game on the ground, jump up and down on it, and grind it into dust if the pokemon didn't get captured. It worked a few times, but I think the game eventually called my bluff...>.<

No matter what, I yell at it. I was once doing something I shouldn't, playing my Sapphire in class, and what happens but latias appears. for some odd reason I had a Golbat i front (i think i was trying to get Crobat) and used Mean Look, and start throwing ultra balls at it and ****. While my math teacher was going on about something i didn't care about, i was like "GET IN THE GODDAMN BALL YOU ****!" Needless to say, my teacher was like WTF??!?! and everyone started laughing. That has happened more than once.

Ironically, after i yelled that at it, it was caught.

As soon as the pokemon goes in the ball, i mash a over and over. it worked every time in emerald, but in platinum it doesnt work very much

I did something similar at one point, i just yell at it if it doesnt get captured.

Ever since RBY ive held Down + B, back then i was convinced it worked lol
