It's to Explorers of Time/Darkness what Platinum is to Pearl/Diamond, so you are right in that it is something like an Extended Version of PMD2. If I'm not wrong it hasn't even been released in Japan either, so you might have to wait a little longer for it

Bulbapedia has confirmed this 'extended' version to be released in Japan in mid to late April.

It includes Arceus, shaymin, and Giratina origin form. In the game it has extra missions that explain things from other characters lives. It has new shops in dungeons, too. It is titled PMD explorers of the sky.

At GameStop they said it is coming out September 1st but then the Wikipedia article says its coming September 23 I'm so confused
