I was wondering, if you prevent a pokemon from evolving (pressing B) will it stop evolving completely? Or will it evolve at the next level?

It will evolve at the next level up, unless it's holding an Everstone.

It should be noted that when trading a Pokemon that is not holding an everstone will evolve and can't be cancelled out - same goes for a Pokemon that evolves with a stone.

Can you clarify that, Krisp? So, I'll put up an example.

If I traded a Kadabra @ Everstone, it wouldn't evolve to Alakazam?

And to be more specific, krnaznboy, the Poke will always try to evolve if it can at every level after it should. If you press B, you just hold it off till the next level.

Obviously, the main advantage to this is learning attacks faster, but its stats won't be as high. But that's a choice each Trainer has to make individually...

Hope this helps!

uh yeah, thats kind of the point of an everstone AEP. Oh and in other generations(I don't know about GSC) you can't stop trade evolutions if they don't have an everstone, even if you hit B a million times.
