Er, both pictures did not work.
Anyway, I believe there is a Game Shark cheat which allows you to walk through walls. That might be how people can find their way into whatever forbidden area you are talking about.

I've always wondered how to get over there, and what appears there...
I downloaded the ROM to test this code out, and the answer is: nothing. You can't walk too far "through walls", otherwise the game crashes. I'm not sure if there is anything programmed to appear over there, though. I highly doubt it, since it's unreachable. If I could hack ROMs, I'd check. =P

I saw a video on YouTube of someone using the walk through walls GameShark code who goes over there. The game crashes instantly.
As soon as YouTube comes back up, I'll post the link.
Edit: Well, I watched it at work, but I didn't favorite it so now I can't find it. As soon as I do, links will be had.
Edit again: Found it! It's the last thing shown in this video, no wonder I couldn't find it:

I've heard of this.
From a site I looked at, the reason why the walk-through-walls cheat always freezes the game is because there is truly nothing there. Its like falling off the face of the earth. Falling into a donut-hole (cartoon metaphor)

Maybe it's just there because Nintendo didn't want to put hundreds of rows of crappy look trees, and maybe its just there for looks or something.....

The grass is there because if it wasn't there, this thread about Nintendo's smash hit Pokemon would not exist.
Just like the truck in Vermillion. It serves no purpose. But, oh, so many people were obsessed with that truck for so long...
The game designers aren't just game designers, there are psychologists and social scientists working on these games as well to make them addictive. You think they just came up with these overnight?
lol, the only reaosn they take so long is because of little tricks like this. They're called hooks.

The game crashes when this is attempted, with glitchy stripes covering the screen.

there are pokemon programmed there, they are from what i beleive fillers. if a pokemon has a 30% chance of getting spotted, some or all of the rest of the percentage is stored there...i borrowed an AR that i used on my diamond (before i left it in my school bag for too long and broke in half...dont ask how) and i used the walk through walls cheat and in every route there is at least one grassy patch hidden in the trees that cannot be seen from a distance and the same pokemon are there just with different rates...thats what i beleive all of the unreachable patches of grasses are.
