Possible MAJOR side effect of the Mew Glitch?

Ever since I performed the Mew Glitch, the man guardian the Unknown Dungeon has been missing. It's odd, because at the time, I had only about 4 badges, and no interactions at all with Missingno.. I used the Mew Glitch on the Route below Lavender town using one of the Fishermen, and captured Scyther LV 7, Chansey LV 7, and Mew LV 1 (sucks because it was in a box and I had to release it). Ever since the first Mew Glitch activation, that guy has been missing completely. I'm walking around in the Dungeon with my trusty level 40 pokemon as I type.
P.S. No records of ever completing the Elite Four on the PC either.

The disappearance of that single man doesn't seem like a very major thing to me =/
It's always possible that your game would get corrupted when exploiting any glitches, but so far the Mew Glitch doesn't seem to be problematic. Have you made use of any other glitches other than the Mew Glitch?
