I used my AR in Sapphire to try & get several Pokemon (Jirachi, Deoxys, Torchic & Treecko). Instead of encountering them in the wild, they appeared in Lanette's PC along with several 'Bad Eggs'. Each Bad Egg had the Pokerus virus.
when I checked their status, it said that 'it looks like this Egg will take a long time to hatch' and 'a peculiar Pokemon Egg obtained in a trade'.
has anyone had this problem before? I checked the forum but didn't see any related issues.
thanks...

I'm pretty sure your use of the AR has glitched your game. That's the bad point of using cheating devices - they have a possibility of messing up your game.

I think I've read about the Bad Eggs a long time ago. I think they never hatch but they transmit Pok

Is it possible to force hatching with a cheating device, or change what it will hatch into using a gameshark? If so, try manipulation of what the egg can be.

When I moved the bad eggs within the PC, they took the shape of the pokemon inside (Deoxys, Treeko etc) but when I clicked on them again, they went back into an egg. no idea how that happened.
but I'll try to hatch them. just wondering how long it'll take/if it's worth it.
plus, I tried to release them but couldn't.
my Sapphire still works ok. I'm just trying to fill up my Pokedex before ending the game.
any & all info is appreciated....thanks guys

I believe bad eggs are a trick put in by the programmers to stop people from cheating- they take ages to hatch, and if they hatch at all it's usually into a pokemon called "??". http://www.trsrockin.com/ has some info on them, I think, and some theories.

Bad eggs are wierd. I ended up with quite a few myself. They're just eggs with visual glitches, and nothing more.

Don't bother trying to hatch them IMO. They're just glitches.

I checked out the link gryphflame provided. bad eggs are glitches you get for trying to obtain certain pokemon using ar/gameshark.
I guess I'll leave them in the pc since they didn't harm my sapphire (lucky break) & move on.
thanks for everyone's help.
if you find more info on this please let me know.

Bad Eggs are just the game's reaction to cheating device. They are harmless, but they cannot be released OR hatched, so they simply take up space in your PC. Just leave them alone.

Bad Eggs stop the Pokerus Virus from spreading.

Okay, so it's confirmed that the bad eggs are just glitches then. Gonna lock this now that the question has been answered.
