Okay, so I was playing my Emerald version today. I didn't notice it until after I'd been battling for awhile, but the Mew that I have was getting boosted points. I caught it on Faraway Island... So it wasn't traded into my game... Then I noticed this phenomenon with my other pokemon. Like my Wailord, Gardevoir and Rayquaza. I was wondering is this normal to happen? Is my game glitched? Is this common to the Emerald version?

:?

Did you obtain any of them with a cheating device?

No. I obtained them in their respective places. Rayquaza - Sky Pillar... Etc. I noticed it is the same with all my pokemon in my boxes. It only doesn't give bonus points if I catch them fresh. I went out and caught and oddish, and killed a pokemon with it and it gained regular points. All of them in the boxes get bonus points...

I don't know if it's necessarily a bad thing though. I just don't like it .

PS: I realize, that I did use an AR a few days ago... But it was only for low game time... Do you think that could've affected it?

Your ID number sounds like it might have been changed by the AR.

That's exactly what I had thought, but I checked and it didn't. The numbers are the same, unless the "code" was changed. Do you think that this would actually cause problems?

PS: When I caught that Oddish, my ID number remained the same : 41226. I don't want to restart though.

It might have changed your hidden ID number.
But on the other hand, why exactly is this a problem? I'd love getting free EXP due to a glitch. :D

Well it is sort of good, I suppose. I guess I just don't like the fact of a glitched out game or something. I restarted my firered for this reason. Except Emerald seems to be a little more tolerant than firered was.

I suppose that this has been pretty much answered. It can be closed now. 8-)

I've heard of this before - sometimes, even wild pokemon can have other original trainers.

Mostly events - like the mew could have had a different OT, even though you "caught" it first.

When I first started training it, it said "Mew gained 120 EXP". Now it says things like "Mew gained a boosted 1000 EXP". The same with all my other Pokes. I caught Mew on faraway Island. No-one but me, had it first.
