 Question about breeding shiny

Post Question about breeding shiny
I know chances of shinys are 1/8192 or somethings like that but if you breed shiny pokemon odds are stil the same. But is it decided if the pokemon is shiny when it hatches or when you pick up the egg?

The stats for a pokemon are set when the egg is laid, including shininess.
