ok i was just wondering if i was wasting my time by trying to hatch a shiny beldum because the steps for hatching a shiny is save, hatch, reset, repeat and i have 1.) saved 2.) walked the one step to hatch 3.) reset GBA 4.) repeat steps 2-4. i was wondering, does it matters that i dont save before i walk the one step? because im already wasting my time doing this, i dont want to be wasting my time on wasting my time. any answer to my question would be awesome (perferably from someone who knows or has hatched a shiny on purpose not on accident) thanks much

wait another question... can i restart with the same egg or do i have to hatch 8000 different beldums? again, any answer would be awesome

I believe that the stats for a pokemon are set when the egg is made, which would include the hidden numbers that make a pokemon shiny. The easy way to check would be if the Beldum that is hatching when you follow your method has the exact same stats every time you hatch it; if they're different, then you might have a shot at getting it that way eventually. If not, you'll need to hatch approximately 8000 different Beldums, and still no guarantees then.
