Not Adamant - Jolly, 252...better make sure you have perfect speed IV.

I have a Garchomp that I like, but will not share

I agree with Gnaaye's, but I prefer Rock Slide > Stone Edge, for accuracy and pp - lets no forget what flinch does though in addition - 10% accuracy drop. nd with 333 x 1.5 speed, he'll be going first often.

%20 accuracy drop? Are you sure, P-L?

The accuracy difference between Rock Slide and and Stone Edge is 5, but Stone Edge has 15 more power. Not worth sacrificing 15 power vs 5 accuracy imho.

No, but Garchomp has a lot more pp to burn with rock slide.

And, IMO, 5% is a big drop from 85->80 (not 100 -> 95 or 95 -> 90)

Also, its a 10% accuracy drop, not 20.

I agree with Rockslide being better 2...like I always say, Sweepers Cannot afford to miss because they can't tank much...especially Super effective hits.

Actually garchomp is bulky enough (more than salamence, though slightly less than 'nite) to afford a miss, but I still prefer the pp. Plus, with the speed, you can flinch, and if I'm not mistaken, flinch lowers the accuracy of your foe's moves by 10%

How does my Torterra sound to you guys?

{torterra}@lefties
Overgrow l Impish
252 HP, 100 DEF, 100 ATK, 52 SpD

Stealth Rock
Wood Hammer
Earthquake
Synthesis

my main idea with him is to lay down SR and hopefully smack around a few things with his STAB moves, and heal off damage sustained with Synthesis and lefties.... Basically a tank w/SR support. I know the EV spread seems a bit too divided, but I need him to take hits as well as dish them out, since he'll probably be my lead.

Huh? That can't be right, I mean 30% of the time they will flinch, right? I don't know if that counts as accuracy, 30% flinch chance over 25% extra damage is gutsy I'd say.

(It should be noted I used the percentage in a weird way and the actual increase of damage should be around, but not exactly 33 1/3% not counting accuracy)

So I'm working on a Special Sweeping flygon in my spare time (still in the works)

How do you think this move set will work?

Modest, Wide Lens
252 S.atk 252 Speed
-Earth Power
-Fissure (40% acc. with lens)
-Fire Blast (95% acc. with lens)
-Dragon Pulse

Now I just need to get my two trapinches to lv89..... (throws em in daycare)

Also here's my Togekiss
Modest, Sky Plate
Serene Grace
252 S.atk 252 Speed
Air Slash (60% flinch rate w/Grace)
Hyper Beam
Aura Sphere
Thunder Wave (for faster opponents)

What do you think of this Milotic? (Yes, I got one... at last!)

{milotic} @ Leftovers
Aqua Ring
Surf
Blizzard
Recover

She's excellent at healing, first activate Aqua Ring to restore 20HP after each turn. And if she'd damaged too much, use restore. Surf and Blizzard for powerful attacks, so she's strong against quite alot pokemon. Your opinions?

Mr D: Try this:

Milotic @ Leftovers
Bold | Marvel Scale
~Rest
~Sleep Talk
~Surf
~Ice Beam

Blizzard has piss-poor accuracy and a mere 5 PP. Ice Beam instead. RestTalk to activate Marvel Scale.

<Considering Jolly instead of Adamant> Oh man, this boy's the bane of my BL/UU Team, a shredding machine ready to eat it's opponent whole... sadly for me, this guy is almost as famous as Blissey and her gazillions of HP.

Just to attempt raising a good conversation, what would be this guy's BL/UU counter/bane/guillotine? If such thing might be found in the BL/UU environment, no?

Ok so I just EV trained my first pokemon... WAILORD. He's quiet, often dozes off, and trained 252 HP 252SD and 6D... what do you think about how I trained him and what about his move set? I'm thinking

Surf
Rest
Sleeptalk
(something else)

but I honestly have no idea what i'm doing, its just WAILORD is my favorite pokemon. Please help me!

Thanks

-Blucow

Oh, and I'm trying to breed a good Cydanquil right now, whats a good moveset for him?

Not bad so far, I'd say. If you're wanting a last move suggestion, I'd go with Ice Beam. It helps take care of Wailord's x2 weakness to grass, and it takes advantage of the Special Attack boost from a Quiet nature.

Anyway, my own question, regarding Chansey. I've noticed a few people that will fight to the death for the belief that Chansey is way better than Blissey. Why is this? I like my Blissey, thank you.

Ok so i've bred a cyndaquil I like now. Hes rash and very finicky. EV wise I think I will give him 252 SP ATK and 252 SPEED and 6 HP. I'm at a complete loss though with the moveset. Should I have a second pokemon in my team with rest/sleeptalk? Or does Typhlosion not have enough hp and defense to survive the two turns he is alseep. Another question... can he learn thunderpunch? According to the movesets for him on this site it says that he can but in my prima pokedex guide (which is filled with about a thousand typos) says he can't. Would you guys consider eruption a good first move? Or are there more valuable moves for that slot. Thanks for the help.

Typholsion can be taught Thunderpunch in Emerald by use of BP. In DP, they took out many move tutors, meaning that many people EV train/teach moves to Pokemon in their Emeralds and then import them to learn 4th Gen moves. If you already have a Cyndaquil on DP that you like, try thinking of something else to use other than Thunderpunch(which is physical...). As for a moveset, we have a wonderful topic here that I've used many times myself. Simply avoid Thunderpunch and any other tutored moves.

I'm not exactly an EV Trainer, and I'm not one to spend time breeding partly because I can never figure out the calculations, but I have a Dragonair that will eventually become a Dragonite, but I'm at a loss for a good move set to work for.

All I can give you is that it has a Naughty nature, and it Likes to Fight.

The moves I have, until I can get to the Elite 4 is Thunder Wave, Aqua Tail, Dragon Rage, and Surf.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Well, Naughty increases Atk, and Likes to Fight indicates that Atk is your highest IV. I'd say this might turn out to be an alright Dragonite. Keep Aqua Tail, maybe substitute Waterfall for Surf, and...hmm...Dragon Claw for Dragon Rage once it evolves. For now, keep TWave, as it can come in handy, but try to Relearn one of the Punches if you'd like another strong physical move.

Thank you lots. I'll probably keep TW until I get Giratina, then I'll switch it out. Everything else sounds do-able. Thanks again.

Has anyone made a good DP Crobat set? The set from Gen III isn't an option anymore because of the attack category changes.

I consider Giratina the 'opposite side' of the mystical Dialga and Palkia, being born when the world was first created. Basically the anti-existence to all the other pokemon.

Luckily for you, there is a Gen IV Moveset list!

Also, I use Smogon sometimes for more in-depth detail.

Crobat's main selling point is high speed - thats it.

Crobat @Leftovers/Choice Specs/Choice Scarf/Berry/Nothing
Timid | 162HP, 132 (Sp)Atk, 216 Speed
Hypnosis
Sludge Bomb/Cross Poison/U-turn
Air Slash/Aerial Ace
Taunt/Dark Pulse/Natural Gift/Theif

KILL KILL KILL

Hypnosis disables one opponent
Flying move kills heracross and breloom
Poison/Bug move kills either darks or psychics (Bug is good vs. Psychic (lol) and dark, but poison happens to benefit from stab and status).
Natural Gift happens to have notable mentions - ice can surprise salamence, electric can surprise gyara and waters. Theif steals something so that your team has support.

Crobat @choice specs
Modest | 4 HP, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
~Giga Drain
~Sludge bomb
~Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball/HP (Ice)
~Air Slash

Giga Drain does a good number on swampert and rhyperior. HP Electric does about the same as Giga drain to other waters, so it is excluded. HP Ice can hit some dragons and grasses.
Shadow Ball is generally superior to dark pulse, imo, as it hits more psychics a tad better - namely gallade and medicham. Dark Pulse, however, does hit normals on a switch.

Crobat @Choice Band/Life Orb
~Brave Bird
~U-turn
~Faint Attack/Pursuit
~Cross Poison

Know what's pathetic? Aside from moves with less than 40 pass power, natural gift, physical moves generally inferior to this, special and support moves, this is the extent of his physical pool. X-scissor lacks priority.
Actually, seeing as it's going to die anyway, if you have it as life-orb, you could go with giga impact as a kamikaze. But then again, u-turn switches you out.

Other options: Haze, Trapping, Confuse ray, Nasty Plot @Life Orb on the choice specs. Screech + U-turn for pseudo hazing (you'll do better if you confuse/sleep though). Thats it.

Opinion - it was bad enough last generation being a poison with a weakness to bolt-beam, rock slide, and not having any really good attacks. It now lost physical hidden power and the defensive game that it could play in, to an extent (yes, 386 was a defensive metagame towards the end).

Btw, here's how you know if a pokemon is good or not - if its common, 90% of the time means its bad. And Zubat is common in caves.
