Sorry if this topic has already been posted but does substitute work with abilities? As in Rough skin, Poison Point, Effect Spore, etc. I was wondering while looking in the Psydex at Sharpedo's page

No, as the attacks all hit the Substitute, not the "Substituter". Therefore, Rough Skin etc. wouldn't be triggered.
For more info, you can look here.

...Read the whole thing.
Any move not listed specially doing another effect (i.e. Sandstorm, Attract are moves that do affect the original, all other moves do not)will only do damage to the Substitute.
That is self-explanatory.

ive noticed on netbattle that endeavour and pain split work when the opponent has a sub up. eg imagine a blissey has a sub up and has 500hp left, and a weezing with 1hp uses pain split - then they both go to about 250hp, and the blissey's sub remains intact.

That may be because
1. It's not an attack actually hitting the Pokemon or
2.It's taking HP away but not the substitute's HP away.
But I don't know that for a fact

Netbattle, while close to the game, is not an exact and/or perfect replica. For instance, snatch is supposed to waste pp.
But to not get off discussion, it would be nice if someone with 2 gbas was able to do a sub/split test run.
