To anyone who has this awesome game for the Wii. How far are you and who is your favorite character?

I am at Chapter 10.
My favorite character is probably Zihark because he was awesome in Path of Radiance for the Gamecube and it was awesome to see him return in this Wii game too. Swordmasters are my favorite class too, so just more reason to love Zihark :)

I'm at Part III, Chapter 13.

So far I like Haar, he's basically one of my main powerhouses.

It's weird how the game gets bad ratings. It gets critized for not using the Wiimote's capabilities, so what would happen if we did have it? We might as well pretend we are controlling a sword and mindlessly hacking our opponents.

Fire Emblem is just a stragety game, which doesn't need to use the Wiimote's functions.

EDIT: I also like how they have a "Supreme" class. Basically, without spoiling it, it is a greater advancement of classes. For example, a Sowrdsmaster can change classes to become more powerful. In the last game, that class was the highest.

Yeah, i was surprised with the bad ratings too. Imo, there should be at least a little use of the Wiimote's capabilities. You might as well use a regular Gamecube controller. Right now I'm on Part 2: Chapter 3 and I used Haar in Chapter 1 and I aree, he was a true powerhouse.

I also heard that the game freezes when you try to upload an easy save game from the prequel to the normal or hard sequal. Is this true?

No, no, no, no.

Fire Emblem does not need Wii-mote capability. It's a strategy game. You select units and make them move over squares of terrain and select options. You do not, I repeat, NOT need all kinds of fancy "special" Wii-mote additions just because it's a new console. Anyone who thinks it does obviously misses the entire point of Fire Emblem.

srsly, it's this reason why so many DS/Wii games are utter crap, or at least not very good. Nintendo are trying to implement wonderful new tricks where they aren't needed, just to get a bit of publicity.

I'm planning on getting this as one of my first Wii games, when I finally get round to buying a Wii at all. It has its downpoints, yes; but, it's a 3D Fire Emblem. What's not to like? Also, the music rules. Beauty is a Mad Mistress > your mum.

undertaker: 'fraid so. However, they've probably fixed it for the latest releases, and the European localisations.

I agree with GQ on the whole no need for Wii-mote capabilities fornt, but I'd actually go one step further and argue that the game has no reason to be on the Wii at all.
It may just be because my mind is firmly set on Fire Emblem being GBA format I'd argue that it would be much beter on the DS simply because the game don't need a whole tv screen and would be much beter suited for the DS and still be able to keep some of it's 3D-ness because hand-held strategy game > console strategy game.

Well that's my opinion I'm not at all sure if i'm gonning to get this game but time'll tell I guess.

Actually, that isn't a very good argument. The first five Fire Emblem games were all on the NES/SNES, so it's nothing new for the series to be on such a large screen. The two "3D" FEs aren't even that 3D anyway - the gameplay is all on a 2D plane, just like the previous installments; it simply has 3D graphics.

If it's any consolation, there's a Fire Emblem game for the DS coming out eventually. It's a remake of the first game, Dark Dragon and Sword of Light. A source, for those of you who are picky about it.

Cheers, Latios. Those are the best screenshots I've seen yet.

Incidently, for all those not very knowledgable of FE (i.e. most of you sane folks), yes this IS the game with Marth in it.

I guess your all correct but there is one thing im confused about. If there are no wii features on FE:RA, why does it say "please make sure their are no objects around you while playing?" The first FE i got was the first gameboy one released in the US.

Oh no! That'd be like doing homework, but on a video game. :(

I don't think Fire Emblem has that much Math in it. You just need to factor in the damage your units will deal versus that of the enemy, ditto chances of doing a critical and other factors affecting combat.

It does have strategy though, being a turn-based strategy game.

Did Marth and Roy exist at different "time periods" in the game?

No and yes. Although nothing's completely confirmed, it's fair to assume that the worlds of Elibe and Akaneia are completely and utterly unrelated. In all honesty, it makes things a lot simpler if you don't try and come up with a complicated theory linking all the worlds of Fire Emblem together.

Short answer: they are in completely different universes and timelines and so have ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH EACH OTHER.

Part III Chapter 13. I have to battle save every turn because I've already lost Meg. Damn Laguz and their movement.
