Who is better in your opinion, Dialga or Palkia?

Um, no. Water moves are not effective against Dialga, and Dragon moves are neutral.

Water Pulse + steel type = super effective.

I just like Dialga because his type is actually different. There are way too many water types.

In fact, because of Dialga's dragon typing, it'd resist water attacks.
On the other hand, Palkia is weak to dragon, whereas Dialga isn't. Palkia can hit Dialga super effectively with Earth Power and Aura Sphere, but neither get STAB.

Palkia > dialga, palkia is usually a better choice.

However if were talking palkia VS dialga, then it just depends on how they were trained really. Id place my bets on palkia.

It really depends on your uber team. If it were Palkia vs Dialga, as Alkhazor said, it really depends on training and moves. A Dialga with Roar of Time, its signature move, is going to have a difficult time beating a Palkia with Protect.

EDIT: ok, nvm Protect. Sub then. My point is that it's not such a straight match - changes in moves can affect who will win.

How so? If the attack doesn't do damage then it doesn't recharge. But seeing as Palkia is faster and can learn EQ with its 120 Base Power Atk stat, with a Life Orb of Choice Band it may be able to OHKO a Dialga. If not Roar Of Time would take out palkia in a heart beat.

Protect won't protect Palkia for long

It has an almost nil chance of actually out-PPing Roar of time, so it will just stall its death... (sorry 'fainting')

On the other hand EQ could do it... maybe.

Also... Dialga looks so much cooler

I think Dialga, because of it's long list of resistances and only two weaknesses, I'm pretty sure.

Palkia is faster, (at least mine is) And has a better signature move.

i'll sum up why i think dialga is better:
dialga is NOT weak to dragon attacks, but palkia is, so dialga can OHKO palkia with roar of time.

dialga just looks plain cooler.

and, honestl, how many dragon steel types are their in the history of pokemon? not many...

In my experience, Dialga usually wins vs Palkia with one Roar of Time (Super Effective + STAB = dead Palkia). If the Palkia can go first (or RoT misses) and get a good enough hit with Aura Sphere, though...

Why is everybody talking about putting Roar of Time on Dialga? Roar of Time is garbage. Dragon Pulse is better in almost every situation.



I swear, if you give a Palkia earthquake over earth power, I will kill you. Aura Sphere has the same power, and slightly more type coverage in the uber tier, and cannot miss, so you should go with that anyway.
