If anybody does Kickboxing... Have you heard of Peter Edwards. (World Kickboxing Champion like 6 times in a row or something.) Because he's my best mates dad and I have his old WAKO GB jacket Muahaha

I used to take Tae Kwon Do a few years ago. I got up to the red belt, which I think is one ot two levels below Black belt. Our Trainer was Master Paq, 2nd Dregree Black Belt. I'm also planning of taking a swords class.

I used to do Taekwondo, but I stopped after reaching the Green Belt with the blue strip, whatever you call that. A pity; I didn't have the time or commitment to continue with the training then.

Blue Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I'm getting ready to progress, all I need is my red then I can go for black. It still is going to take awhile though, seeingas in Tae-Kwon-Do you have to be 16 in order to get your Black Belt. If you're under sixteen, you can get Junior Black, which is basically the same thing.

I'm drunk, but even I know this goes in the sports section. Why create other section if everything is going to be put in the same area? Backseat modding maybe, but doesn't anyone else notice this, or am I that drunk?

You have a good point, DatVu, but while it's here, might as well keep it.
Anyway, has anyone heard about the form of Martial Arts known as Aikido? I take it in the summer, and it's alot of fun. I've only done it one year, so I haven't progressed far, but I hope to continue and climb the ranks.
Aikido is a different form of martial arts, in the way that you don't punch your opponent as much as you let him try and punch you. You use your opponents movement and combine it with your own, and just carry the attack a little farther then it was intended. It's easy to get someone off balance, and that's one of the major principles of Aikido: keep your balance while making your opponent lose his.
It's really quite fascinating.

A 2nd Dan fella in Taekwondo, a 1st Dan in Karate. Learning Wushu and Taichi, which i think is where Aikido originated.

I don't do martial arts, but for a while I was interested in ninjitsu (Yes, odd, inspired by a game character. Died after a while.)
I want to take a swordfighting class, but can't find any...
My friend Eileen's got a Judo thingy, and claims to have had a class in ninjitsu...I dunno. Have to ask her tomorrow, if she's better.

I am first dan in Shigaisen Karate-do (a reinventing of traditional karate for modern combat). I am also 2nd green in Koei-Kan Karate, I have some experience with Muay Thai (although they don't have belt ranks) I am a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu *is proud* and I have unofficial training in Kendo because one of my friends is an assistant instructer at the local Kendo dojo that I can't afford to go to, lol. I also wrestled for about two seasons but I wasn't very good at that, Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu is a lot better of a ground style for my body type anyway. I am also about to start a new pressure point style soon, but I can't remember the name of the style for the life of me.

I'm at 1st Dan in Taekwondo, been that for a long time now. It demands a lot of one, especially when you reach that level. I'm thinking of taking second grade this summer, and that would make me really young for that grade, seeing as I'm only 15..
Anyway, I love Taekwondo, mostly because I've been doing it since I was seven. My problem is, I hate to compete. It just make me feel ill in my tummy and stuff. Ugh. Competing is a huge part of Taekwondo as well, so I have to work on that as well.. Does anyone else do more or less serious martial arts competing?

I'm first Dan Tae Kwon Do also, though I haven't competed in a long time. But I train every other day and spar on Fridays and Saturdays. There's a local tournament coming up, which I think I'll at least to Poom Sae in, and possibly sparring.
And then, after the tournament I'll have to start training really hard for my Second Dan again, I broke my wrist the week before the last test, and I qualified for it and everything...So this time I just won't leave my house without a layer of bubble wrap and hope for the best.

I was a Blue Belt in Tae Kwon Do before I quit. Yellow Sash in weapons before I quit that as well.
I really wish I could get back into it...
