Yes, I know for a fact that they are not in the game, but I found this interesting...

I recently purchased the Super Smash Bros. Melee GameCube cover. On it is the main picture, featured on the game. While it has all of the characters that are in the game, this picture stretchers a little farther to the right, revealing Wario, Toad, and Diddy Kong. I think that they were orginally intended to appear in the game, but were removed. Thoughts?

That would have been awesome if there were in the game, especially Toad because fighting as a mushroom would be awesome. I wouldn't like Wario though, but he would have to be in it if the other two sidekicks were.

Yeah I know that Wario's gonna be in Brawl.

I believe that toad is not going to be in brawl, due to three things:

He is too weak to actually fight.
What would his moves be? I mean, come on... he's a support character in the games.
Peach has already been shown using him as her shield thing on the site.


Don't give me that peach/zelda crap being too weak to fight, they are major characters. Think about it; every character in SSBM is a major character in their game.

Diddy Kong is only a maybe... they could add his peanut gun (DK 64), he could take out bananna peels like peach takes out vegetables... I don't know, we'll see.

Think about it, what moves will they have? Not much to do with them. Well maybe Wario.

Diddy was actualy confirmed. he uses the gun and some sort of jet pack.

This thread is about Smash Bros Melee, not Brawl.

And it would have been great for me if Wario had appeared in Melee because:
-I like to use strong but slow characters
-Wario would have wore his yellow/purple suit, which I prefer over the WarioWare one.
