So, I got to see Transformers shortly after it premiered last night, and was blown away. The special effects were amazing, the story was amazing, and even the acting was very good (the Transformers were better acting-wise, IMO, than the humans, especially Optimus Prime). It was light years ahead of the three-quels that dominated May and June, and was even better (although they're clearly in different categories) than Pixar's latest movie, Ratatouille (Side Note: Ratatouille is possibly the best Pixar movie yet.)
So, has anyone else seen the movie yet, and if so, what were your thoughts?

I cringed every time the parents opened their mouths :x Pretty much the only criticism I have of the movie, although I thought it was a tad long. And yes, to those who haven't seen it, do it now.
ps: a pixar film better than finding nemo???????

I enjoyed it thoroughly, and many scenes kept replaying in my head days after I watched the movie. The effects were great, the transformation rather seamless, and the battles were great.
One possible problem with the movie might be that the bots hardly had enough time for character development. Save for probably Optimus Prime and maybe Bumblebee, the rest of the characters didn't really endear themselves to me. Then again, it's already hard enough to develop a cast of human characters, so to do so for a human cast and a robotic cast is even harder.

I would have to say it's my favorite movie ever, i saw it on Monday and then i watched it again on Thursday
But yeah the Robots were the best i could say that they didn't have enough development for the robots, but then again i have been watching Transformers since i was little so i already know about all the characters
I really like the comedic parts they had in it too
"You eye ballin my piece 50 Cent" lol
The only thing that it was lacking was some better camera angles never got one of that "Perfect View" of Megatron and Starscream
It was kinda long, but i don't think it should be shorter

I find the begining statement of the topic is debatable

Well, then, please, state why. If you've seen a better movie this summer (IE, one that's come out since May or so), I'd certainly like to hear what it is, and why you liked it better. If you just want to argue about it, then I'd like to know why you bothered posting.

There are more movies to come this summer that could be superior to that movie so I think its really to early to judge

I thought the movie was great, and it is probably my favorite movie. I can't think of any others right now.

From what I've seen of trailers it looks like a very good film. But I have one problem with it... The actual Transformers themselves look too busy. Too many mechanical parts and wires, they could have done with more plating.

Almost everybody i know loves this movie
I was lucky enough to see it at AX
The special effects were incredible
Acting was better than I expected
But the movie still put me to sleep...
The second movie ever to do that to me
Maybe its because im not all that big of a Transformers fan
maybe it was all the otaku's screaming and cheering when Optimus Prime opened his mouth to say something, who knows?
But I didnt really like the movie
I might give it one more try when its released in Blu-Ray

HOE - LEE - KUHRAP!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeez. That was SUCH a great movie. I'm so happy I saw it. I want to see it 18 more times! (well, maybe not that much...)
If you haven't seen it, you need to. Now. I think this was Steven Spielberg's best movie yet

Steven was just a producer
Michael Bay was the director
And yeah Saving Private Ryan is a better movie than the Transformers movie

that movie was really cool......special effects were the best....and it had a mix of comedy and action which is a good combo.....only 1 prob with it was that some of the robots didnt hav a big enough role like ratchet, ironhide, jazz and most of the decepticons......hope they make a sequel cuz it would be friggen sweet
