I have made this topic to help everyone identify hacked pokemon. Recently it has become a huge epidemic and a huge topic in this forum. These are a few helpful tips that I have found from numerous sites that I believe will help everyone out. Hopefully this topic has not already been thoroughly explained or stickied. I truely hope this is acceptable and HELPS everyone out. I have invested A LOT OF WORK into this and it would be a shame to see it be wasted. This is in no way Sponsored by Psypokes, that fact I have many links to this site is that it has the best information.

Again if this is Inappropriate either in this specific forum or has all ready been posted I am truely sorry I am just trying to help all the people with questions.

If anything is wrong or you have info I have not added please feel free to post an I will be more than happy to add the info. I am always looking for more helpful info such as Legendary locations like the birds in RBY and such.

All of the Pokemon have Links embeded in them for easy access to see their stats and movesets.

1) Helpful Tips To Identify Hacked Pokemon

These are a few Tips I have found very useful to use when identifying if a Pokemon is Hacked or not.

Max IVs: It’s a very rare chance to get a Pokemon with max IVs. Even more rarer to get a shiny one with 31 IVs in all stats. Here is a DV calculator which will help you find the IVs in a pokemon, the only problem is if you dont reduce all of its EVs it wont work. If it’s all the same number like 30/31 or even 0, then it’s hacked. Before trading, ask the person to tell you the stats and if nessecary, tell them to reduce it's EVs or tell the EV spread. Then use the calculator properly and check it's IVs. I've seen this pretty popular with hacked shinies...

Max EVs: If a Pokemon has more than 255 EVs into one stat or more than 510 total EVs, then it’s hacked. Again, use the EV reducing berries to take out 10 EVs per berry and count up your pokemon’s EVs. Here is another link to the calculator to help figure it out.

Max Sheen or Condition: A Pokemon can’t have all 5 conditions maxed out, only about 2 or 3 based on my experiences. So if the condition is maxed on all 5 qualities, it's hacked.

Illegal Moves: Any Pokemon knowing impossible moves is hacked. Also, having some impossible combinations of egg moves may also indicate that a pokemon is hacked. Just research the pokemon on your own to see if it can't have two or more certain egg moves at once.

Illegal Ball: Certain Pokemon like all starters (except for Johto starters from Distant Land), fossils, Riolu, Eevee (except from D/P), Celebi, and Jirachi may only be caught in pokeballs. If they are caught in any other ball, then they are hacked.

Illegal Location: Check a pokemon’s location (search online) and see if they can be caught or in some cases hatched in that region. Pokemon like Mewtwo may only come from Kanto, Rayquaza are from Hoenn, and Palkia are from Spear Pillar. However, any hatched Pokemon may be obtained anywhere but must be in a pokeball.

Suspicious ID/OT: Anything with an ID no. of 00000 is automatically hacked. There may be some weird number orders but I've gotten 32323 and 04001 before in my games so it might just be weird luck. Also, based on my experiences, I don't trust anything with the OT of "Tumbly", "Mostafa", "AAAAAAA" or "Zero" but that's just me since I recognize the names from elsewhere.

Suspicious Traders: Before trading with anyone, I highly suggest doing a "background check" on the person and see where and how he/she posts. If it's a new member, you shouldn't take the risk until you can actually see how the person acts like before trading your pokemon first. Don’t stereotype like that all the time because some newbies may be more honest than the veterans here XD *slapped*) If you are asking someone to clone your pokemon, always ask for collateral or an equal pokemon in return. If you do get scammed, report the thread/screenshot the PM and contact a staff member. Any false accusations could cost you your arm though so please don’t lie and make up stories.

Special Pichu/Pikachu: There is no such thing as a Surfing Pichu or Flying Pikachu since the ones obtained from previous events need to have their HM removed in order to migrate to D/P. The only Surfing Pikachu is obtained in a pokeball from Pokemon Battle Revolution and met at “Lovely Place” and “Apparently had a fateful encounter at level 10.

2) Rare Event Pokemon

Mew - ND 151 {mew}

1) English, level 10+, ID no: 06930, OT: MYSTRY, in pokeball, given away at Toys ‘R Us

2) Japanese, level 10, ID no: 50716, OT: Hadou/Wave, in pokeball, given away at Japanese movie event

3) Japanese, level 30+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in original ball, ticket acquired from Japanese Event and met in Hoenn

FAKES: English Mew from island. Nintendo never released the Old Sea Chart to American games and any caught Mew should not be English but Japanese. Also, any other Mew caught in the grass is hacked and may not obey. Another Dead give away is the moveset, if the pokemon has a move not able to be learned by the pokemon then it has to be hacked.

Lugia - ND 249 {lugia}

1) English, level 70+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in original ball, ticket acquired from various events (Nintendo World Store, JAA Tour, etc) and met in Kanto or Hoenn

2) English, level 50+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Orginal owner, in original ball, snagged and purified in XD and met in “Distant Land” and may know PsychoBoost and/or FeatherDance

3) English, level 70, ID no: 06227, OT: 10ANNIV, in pokeball, given away at UK Top Ten Pokemon Event

4) German (LUGIA), level 70, ID no: 06227 OT: 10JAHRE, in pokeball, given away at Pokemon Day in Germany

FAKES: Anything under level 70 (unless from XD at 50). Anything that is not caught in the listed areas.

Ho-oh - ND 250 {ho-oh}

1) English, level 70+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in original ball, ticket acquired from various events (Nintendo World Store, JAA Tour, etc) and met in Kanto or Hoenn

2) English, level 70+, ID no: 10048, OT: MATTLE, in pokeball, obtained from Mt. Battle Challenge in Colosseum but location is whatever game it was first trade to from the Gamecube

3) English, level 70+, ID no: 06227, OT: 10ANNIV, in pokeball, given away at UK Top Ten Pokemon Event

4) German (HO-OH), level 70, ID no: 06227 OT: 10JAHRE, in pokeball, given away at Pokemon Day in Germany

FAKES: Anything under level 70. Anything that is not caught in the listed areas.

Celebi - ND 251 {celebi}

1) English, level 70+, ID no: 00010, OT: 10 ANIV, in pokeball, given away at JAA Tour

2) Japanese, level 10+, ID no: 31121, OT: Ageto/Agate, on pokeball, downloaded from Japanese Bonus disc for Colosseum but location is whatever game it was first trade to from the Gamecube

3) Taiwanese (CELEBI still I guess), level 30+, ID no: 06623, OT: Pokepaaku/PokePark, in pokeball given away at PokePark Event in Taiwan

FAKES: English Celebi under level 70 and anything caught with original owner’s ID and not matching event ID.

Jirachi - ND 385 {jirachi}

1) English, level 5+, ID no: 20043, OT: WISHMKR, in pokeball, downloaded from American Bonus disc for Colosseum

2) English/UK, level 5+, ID no: 40122, OT: CHANNEL, in pokeball, downloaded once completing Pokemon Channel European version

3) Japanese, level 5+, ID no: 30719, OT: Negai Boshi/Wishing Star, in pokeball, given away at Japanese Movie Event

4) Japanese, level 5+, ID no: 40707/50707/60707, OT: Tanabata, in pokeball, given away at a Japanese Event.

5) Taiwanese (JIRACHI still I guess) level 30+, ID no: 60731/60830, OT: Pokepaaku/PokePark, in pokeball, given away at PokePark Event in Taiwan

FAKES: Any Jirachi caught with original owner’s ID and not matching event ID.

Deoxys - ND 386 {deoxys}

1) English/UK/Germany, level 30+, ID no: Original Owner, OT: Original Owner, in original ball, ticket acquired from various events

2) English, level 70+, ID no: 00010, OT: SPACE C, in pokeball, given away at Houston Space Center Event

3) Japanese, level 50+, ID no./OT: unknown, in cherish ball, has classic ribbon, given away at Pokemon Fiesta event

4) Netherlands (DEOXYS still I guess), level 70+, ID no: 28606, OT: DOEL, in pokeball, given away at the TV Toy Museum Destiny Deoxys movie event

FAKES: Any caught Deoxys under level 30. Also, any Deoxys caught in Hoenn because the Aurora ticket was never distributed again by time Emerald came out. And any other Deoxys caught in the grass is hacked and may not obey.

Manaphy - ND 490 {manaphy}

1) English/Japanese/UK, level 1+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in pokeball, met in “Pokemon Ranger” and “Fateful encounter,” obtained once completing a mission in Pokemon Ranger and hatched in D/P

2) Japanese, level 5+, ID no: Orginal owner, OT: Original owner, in pokeball, met in “Lovely place” and “Apparently had a fateful encounter at level 5.”

FAKES: Anything caught instead of being hatched and does not have the proper locations.

2.1) DP Event Pokemon - There is no way any American DP event pokemon is legit, the event and glitch only cover the Japanese versions.

Darkrai - ND 491 {darkrai}

1) Japanese, level 40+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in original ball, E4 Surf Glitch used and met in “Newmoon Island”

2) Japanese, level 50+, ID no: 07147, OT: Eigakan/Movie Theater, in cherish ball, has classic ribbon, given away at Japanese Movie Event, may know Roar of Time and/or Spacial Rend

FAKES: Anything claiming to be from the Glitch but nicknamed in its English name is hacked. You cannot nickname the Pokemon more that 5 letters in the Japanese versions of D/P. So you can’t have a Glitch Darkrai nicknamed “DARKRAI” unless it's caught in the English version and the item has not been released yet. Also anything that does not have the proper location.

Shaymin - ND 492 {shaymin}

1) Japanese, level 30+, ID no: Original owner, OT: Original owner, in original ball, E4 Surf Glitch used and met in “Flower Paradise”

FAKES: Anything claiming to be from the Glitch but nicknamed in its English name is hacked. You cannot nickname the Pokemon more that 5 letters in the Japanese versions of D/P. So you can’t have a Glitch Shaymin nicknamed “SHAYMIN” unless it's caught in the English version and the item has not been released yet. Also anything that does not have the proper location.

Arceus - ND 493 Image

ALL Arceus are FAKE, there is neither a Japanese or an American Event that has happened releasing the item to legitly catch a Arceus. DO NOT ARgUE that you have a LEGIT one, there is NO WAY it is legit.

3) Hacker Programs and Hardware

PokeSav

PokeSav is a total hacker program. It works in coordination with Action Replay (AR) to make generated codes that will literallly overwrite anything in your game. You can change your name, rivals name, money, BT score, contest score, as well as virtually every aspect of a single Pokemon.

Before you could tell if a Poke was hacked due to its location and such as listed above, but PokeSav can quite literally edit anything about a pokemon. Its IVs, Location, Moveset, Item, and Contests not to mention much much more.

Transfers

It SHOULD say what level it was transferred over from. So if you transferred over a LV87 Magikarp that you caught and raised in FireRed, it would say:
"Kanto
Arrived at LV87."

It would NOT say:
"Kanto/Hoenn
(Apparently) Met at LV87"

Or anything else for that matter.

Action Replay

Action replay is a piece of hardware that acts a DS card, it allows you to simultaneously have your DS card in it and be hooked to the computer. What it does is connect AR to the computer, you puts codes onto the AR which then allow you to activate them and start your DS game. Once done it overwrites Saved data enabling you to "hack" your game. In coordination with PokeSav it allows you to go further and Edit Pokemon. This can Crash your game, which is what those darn hackers deserve.

Game Sharks

Game sharks are like the father of cheats, but are virtually extinct now. AR has taken its place on most new gen consoles but for the old ones such as GB and GBA gamesharks are the best. They are the best at what they do on the old consoles as well and are the exact same thing as Action Replay.

5) Taser for her post as Froslass on Pokemon Elite.

6) Flan from Pokemon elite.

7) AkAiRO_MaRA for the Arceus Image

8) Hall Of Bards for the YouTube video on how to use Pokesav.

If I have forgotten anyone I am truely sorry and PM me I will add you right away.

Thank you again for everyone who helped here, and I hope this helps people out to keep their game clean.

Do not PM me for the locations of the programs or the hardware, I truely have neither of the 2 components need to hack. I know so much from exactly what I posted here and am not a cheater. I simply found all of this info by surfing the web, it took roughly an hour and a half to get the info and 2 hours to write everything so it was a lot of work to do this.

Thank You ALL - ClassicK

Finally it is DONE lol 8-) I have a new found respect for all it took to post the long announcements and stickies. I truely had no idea it took that long to make a post like this.

I hope it is appropriate, I really do not want to get banned or have this locked seeing as it is to help people.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, we can only hope!

The rest looks great. Some legendaries are incredibly easy to spot as bogus, but some are pretty hard. Nice guide.

Very true, but PE2K beat me to it, and why re type all of that when you can edit it.

Thats why they are in the credits, it was still a lot of work to make it go together right. either way its there to help everyone so i think its doing ok thus far.

I believe it's good, but you should include a very, very brief description of IVs and EVs and such, since if someone knows what IVs are, they probably know what an AR is.

Unfortunately, while this helps people detect *some* hacked pokémon, pokésav renders this completely useless (yes I know it is mentioned) and this information actually helps would-be hackers, by telling them what exact details a legit pokémon would have...

But it is good for the less professional kind of hacker, as they just spam in masses of max-contest max-IV legendaries :roll:

That is true Joey, even though I didn't really think of it that way. My main idea was to use this as a filter for the already thousands of hacked pokemon.

I don't know, it may be a good idea to remove it. I am realising now how borderline this topic can be considered.

You should mention that you only need a max. of 11 to take out EVs. The first reduces down to 100 if it's higher than 100, then each reduces by 10. If you're suggesting using the berries and using the amount you use as a gauge to how many EVs the poke has, that won't work.

Me, or him? Not everyone knows about the EV reducing berries, and not everyone knows what signifies a legit event poke. Neither of those are "obvius" to everyone.

Truely this is been blown way out of perspective, people are only seeing this as a way to help hackers and it is NOT. This info has been posted to help people who have traded legendaries identify if the trade was legit and to warn people who frauds are. Honestly there are thousands of already hacked pokemon out there, wouldn't you like you like to know if yours is?

Another thing, I have already been PMd by a few people who needed help identifying hacked pokes, so obviously this helped them.

The info here isn't even the whole aspect of hacking, this covers only 8 legendaries. If you honestly thing that is helping hackers you are wrong. Also, with this info it is far more likely that hacked pokemon will be more "legit" now that people have an easier time identifyng them.

This is merely tips to help you, the fact that you can check moves, locations, and IVs is the biggest thing and none of those will help a hacker. To those who have actually been to the events to obtain the pokemon, odds are very slim that they would trade them away ( I know I wouldn't ).

So for all of those that think this "helps hackers" please take more time to read this. None of this has any instructions on how to use any of the programs or devices needed to hack more than it just simply tells what it does.

Again overall this only tell the stats and Locations of 8 pokemon... 8 people come on and half of those locations are unreal... I am simply requesting that people be less critical on things. Anytime something is posted to help they immediately go to the negative side of it until the actual meaning of the post is lost in arguement. This is here to HELP not HARM.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me at any time.

Awesome, should definitely be stickied. I have a legit Manaphy, and when I show it to people they all say it's fake. When I show them this, they will be lining up to be my personal footstools... 8-) .

Definitely well done. I really think its funny, almost a little sad that someone created something like Pokesav. I really wish that I had that kind of free time... I don't understand why you would want to play the game if you going to cheat through it. That just removes the challenge, which removes the fun, and without those, what do you have? Just something to take up space in a closet.

very nice guide, i just have one comment about the no pokemon can have perfect condition one. ive seen this video (link below) where it shows the player feeding the pokeblocks to a pikachu, by the end of it the pikachu has perfect condition in all 5 categories. the levels of the pokeblocks do seem questionable but i think it is possible to do this

Also, a tidbit on Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Should someone with an AR train pokemon with too many codes on, or if their stats are modified (i.e. max EVs in every stat, etc.), they show up as Bad Eggs on the Wii. Since I own an AR, I've tested multiple scenarios and it looks like people who modify their stats with an AR/Pokesav won't be able to get their pokes on PBR. I guess Nintendo noticed people using modified pokes on DS WiFi and decided to limit it.
