it might work on Shedinja...but Focus Band still only has a 1/8 chance of working...not really worth it

It does, if I'm not wrong, but Focus Band doesn't work most of the time, so you're relying quite a bit on luck if you are gonna use this strategy.

it definitely works. i saw it work in the orre colloseum somewhere. why wouldnt it work?
since it has such a small chance of working you can never actually count on it in your strategy, so youre better off going with something you know will work. like a lum berry - a lot of people try and stop shedinja by using will-o-wisp or toxic. a lum berry will take care of that the first time, and you have a chance to get away before it happens again.
but then again, shedinja really only has a couple of purposes in my opinion, eg switching into kyogre. its not to be trusted in general. and it is just a guaranteed casualty if there are spikes or sandstream......

I know it's not very reliable but in game it could be fairly helpfull
