Well there may be a reason for this. This happened to me once and the explanation is ridiculously simple. This may be the case for you, and it may not:
I tried breeding Hitmonlee with Ditto but it was brimming with energy. Then I found out that I got the Hitmonlee by breeding Hitmontop with that Ditto. In short, I was trying to breed the son and the mother, which doesn't work (not to mention...indecent).
Is this your problem, or is it just one of those weird things?

Nobody's using a different Ditto! I have the Crystal guide. It says if the Pokemon is "Brimming with energy" then it doesn't want to mate. In short, NO EGG. Trade for a new Aerodactyl.

Well it means that Ditto liked your Aerodactyl more than the other one. So I'm right in some feilds.

There could be may reasons for this, but the most common is that It Simply Wasn't the right pokemon match...since natures weren't created in the metalics, it's not genetic, so the only other problem breeding could be level? Most likely, in this generation, you have to be within 5 levels, now that's just a Hypothesis, so It might not be the most "correct" Guess in the world....But it's probably the most reasonable.

u have some good points wifi, but in gsc ditto can breed with ANYTHING cept legendaries of course. and ive bred pokemon that r lvl 100 and lvl 30 together, so lvls doesnt make a difference.

I cant be sure but I think somewhere here (probably in the Psylab breeding guide it says something about DVs affecting ur deposited pkmns likelihood to breed with some others? Not sure but i think its one of those unseen values that affects ur chances of getting an egg. Or, ur pkmn are all stubborn like mine, every time, on every version on pokemon i get the "the 2 dont seem to like each other much" msg, indicating there is only a 20% chance of the pkmn breeding. uber annoying. Anyway, hope i shed some light.

Question answered, you can never breed the son with the mother, no matter what, ever ever ever. Use a different Ditto, or just breed the original father and mother, and you get results.
So Giratina_Man, what was your Crystal guide? Mine was the Versus Books guide, and in that respect it was correct (but so many mistakes elsewhere...). Trial and error helps a lot of things.

Actually, the question has indeed been answered quite a few posts back, so this will be locked now.
