Post Golbat Refusing to Evolve
Hey i'm alittle confused as my Golbat is behaving pretty strangely...

It goes to the "What? Golbat is evolving!" Screen thing whenever I level up, but before it starts changing it suddenly stops and says ".....?". Is this meant to happen before you get it happy enough or something?

Oh yeah it isnt holding an everstone or anything, i'm not stupid :)

You probably dont have the National Pokedex yet.

Yup, that's exactly what it is. Mine's been doing the same for ages and it can't evolve without the National Dex.

No, you get the National Pokedex after defeating the Elite Four and catching 60 pokemon. Then talk to Oak and he will give you the dex.
