Deryl Iverson, a small boy with red hair, leads you to the thickest part of the forest that the city is in. On the branches, you see groups of mankey's and primeapes; slakings, vigoroths, and slakoths; infernapes, monfernos, and chimchars; and other monkey-like pokemon. Unfortunately, they are all too high up in the trees and it doesn't look like there are any branches low enough for you to start climbing from.

A pokemon center is nearby, purhapse they have something you could lure them down with. As always, there is the option of doing something else.

((Rolls some dice...))

"GO ASK THAT JERK, BILLY!" Samantha shouted. "HE'LL BE THERE SHOWING THAT THING OFF AT THE CAVE ALL DAY!"

Her brother, Tom, is still trying to get her to explain what that thing was, but she doesn't feel she needs to explain it to him. Must be an older sibling thing.

Either way, the other two are already in their houses, so your best choice is to head to the cave where Billy is showing off whatever he found. Sounds like you may have all day to find out, though. If you want to do something else instead, you'll probably have time.

" Cmon Cubby, Shuffle up one of those trees, And tackle that Primeape from behind overthere, You see him? Try to get him on the ground, so Drit here Can dragon rush him." Steven releases Drit from his pokeball and gets him ready to battle.

Tom prepared himself for battle.And went over and confrented Billy."What is that new thing you were talking about?" he asked worridly.

{Steven}

Cubby tries as desperately as he can to climb up the tree. Unfortunately, the little pokemon isn't strong enough and falls on his back. The injury is painful for the small bear, but nothing serious. Looks like you'll have to find another way.

"Man..." Groanes Deryl. "It's too bad none of our pokemon know headbut. My cousing over in Jhoto told me how you can knock pokemon out of trees using it."

Deryl leans down and pets his torkoal. "I'd use your fire attacks if I could, Shelden, but I don't want to start a forest fire. We'll have to think of some other move to get them to come down to us."

"Hey, chill out, Tom." Says Billy Wendel. "You aren't going to wuss out like all those others, are you?" He says as the remaining kids laugh.

A comment like that is something you'd expect from Billy. He's always been the neighborhood bully, but in a bit of a respectable way. He isn't the kind that only goes after people weaker than him, on the contrary, he goes after everyone. Young and old, big and small, fast or slow, as long as they'll agree to fight him, he'll take them on with either his fists or his two pokemon: Wingly, a tailow, and Shocker, an elekid.

Some say he just likes confrontation and only acts like a bully so people will get angry and fight him.

"This is what I found." He says as he opens up his hand and shows off an old Team Magma emblem. It looks pretty dirty and you can see a scratch on the front that looks like a triangle with three equal, horizontal lines inside of it. Common sense tells you that these were no accidental markings.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Billy says as he puts it in his pocket when he sees some parents coming off in the distance.

Tom's lip curled."If you beat me in a pokemon battle...I'll...be your slave,but if I win I get the emblem."

"Well, I don't know about this, But I heard Drowzees can use headbutt. But I don't think thats such A good idea because my Drowzee doesn't know it." Steven thinks hard for a minute. " Hey, I know, Cubby, Can lure them down using sweet scent." Steven walks over to Cubby and rubs his back where he fell." You felling up to it buddy?"

"Bye Pat!" shouted Dusk while taking back Blaze and turning the other way. He looked at Blaze and wispered. "When will you ever learn when it's time to leave your okeball and when to stay?"

Billy and some of the other kids tell you to keep it down as a large man, the father of one of the girls who ran away crying, comes walking up to the group.

"What in the world is going on here? My little girl came home crying and she said it was because of something you did, Billy! What did you do?"

Thinking fast and realizing he couldn't get away with just saying nothing, Billy says, "I...uh... showed her a dead bug and waved it in her face. We don't have it anymore. A swellow came and grabbed it from us." Billy then looks around, "Right, guys."

Everyone else nods their head and/or says "yes". It's your choice as to whether you will rat him out or not. But be warned, either way will have its consequences. Of course, there's always doing something else.

"Ursa!" Cubby replies gleefully as he starts making weird movements with his body. Soon, he lets out some gas from his rear. Although a non-teddiursa trainer would expect a bad smell, you know that the smell will be sweet and aluring. The move works better than expected. Not only does a mankey come down out of the tree, but a chimchar does as well.

"Oh boy, two pokemon!" Deryl yells in excitement. "Do you want the chimchar, Stevo?" He asks after telling Sheldon to get ready to fight.

The woods are a pretty uneventful place, actually. There are some bugs and some birds, as well as a bug catcher or two here and there. You can interact with them if you wish. Maybe you want to catch a new pokemon. Otherwise, keep trotting along home. Of course, there's always the option of doing something else.

"Torr..." Blaze says with a long face. He knows he shouldn't, but he does any way. You here some inaudible noise coming from behind you, it's Pat and the girl he lives with. They seem to be chatting up a storm, it might be something interesting.

Just as you get to the door to your apartment, you here the phone in your room ringing. At the same time, you hear the girl who lives with Pat shouting, "Flanery is going to kill us."

What to do next is up to you.

Steven only grins. "You bet I do, Drit, Drgon Rush The Chimchar And aim for the Stomach, Now!" "Cubby, Come back in your pokeball" Steven returns Cubby.

Dusk quickly runs upstairs. Whatever Pat was taking about could wait. He returned Blazze into his Pokeball and picked up the phone. "Hello?"

I observe the Machop closely. Either one of them would be a valuable addition to my team. But who will be the most valuable? I think to myself.

I am watching the Machop at a distance, observing how each one acts. (Natures)

"It's the Magma Emblem." Tom told the girls father."And I still don't get whats so evil about it."

{Steven}

((Actually, I just looked at the list of monkey-like pokemon and went, "Enie-menie-minie-moe".))

As you return Cubby, out of the corner of your eye, you should be able to see Deryl's torkoal letting out a few basic fire attacks. As for your battle, Drit builds up a yellow fire that engulfs her as she charges towards the chimchar. Unfortunately, building up the energy and taking the effort to keep it going while moving is overly taxing on the young dratini. She can't keep her charge straight and the agile fire-monkey easily dodges. It then makes a series of gestures at Drit that are...less than appropriate and quite offensive.

Drit is getting upset from the taunt. She's really wants to hurt this chimchar and probably won't listen to any order that wouldn't cause it some damage imediately.

"Hello, Dusk." An omonus voice says from the other end of the line. "I don't think you'll have a problem with me being so formal by calling you by your first name. Especially because of a nice little peice of information I have about you that could threaten your new life on a...let's say...galactic level."

The owner of the voice pauses for a moment to let you take in what she just said.

"If you are wondering who I am or how I know these things, you should know that I am not willing to reveal that to you just yet. Just do a favor or two for my employer and he, I, and everyone else in my organization will forget we ever knew about your past."

As you follow the machop, you begin to notice several, subtle, things about the way each is walking. Your ability to notice would be thanks to Mr. Fuji's strict training. The one on the left seems to be easy going and quite lax. The one on the right looks like it marches to the beat of its own drum and is quite quirky. The leader, the one in the middle however, has his eyes focused and you can tell his other senses are just as observent. It is constantly judging the path that they are on to make sure it is safe from harm. Doesn't take a pro to know that this one is very careful.

Billy and all the other kids smack themselves on the forehead and grumble. They are quite annoyed that you ratted Billy out. The man then reaches through Billy's pockets furiously until he finds it. Enraged he puts it inches infront of Billy's face and starts yelling at him.

"YOU ARE NOT THIS STUPID, BILLY! YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED 10 YEARS AGO WHEN MAGMA INVADED VENDURTUFF! A LOT OF PEOPLE DIED IN THIS TOWN AND THIS DOESN'T BRING BACK HEALTHY MEMORIES FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE! WE'VE BEEN TELLING YOU KIDS HUNDREDS OF STORIES ABOUT IT AND I KNOW YOU'VE HEARD THEM!"

The man starts draging Billy back to his house to inform Billy's parents. After he leaves, the remaining kids grumble and insult you for ratting him out. "Way to go, loser." "Yeah, jerk-face." are only some of the insults you receive while others push you aside as the group disperses.

It's Crawky, not Crawly.

"Oh, no! Bolt, use Zap that poochyana!" cried Richard, hoping he could save Crawky.

{Richard}

((Must have hit "l" instead of "k". Next to a "y" it looked the same.))

Bolt fires a small electric attack at the poochyena. Although small, it manages to knock the dog off of Crawky, who then comes running back to you as fast as she can. The poochyena isn't too happy about getting blind-sighted and starts growling at Bolt, unnerving her a bit. He then charges at her, baring his teeth.

When the poochyana charged, Richard got worried. "Cinder, blast it with your flames!" Richard said.

"What are you talking about?!? Does this have anything to do with Team Galactic?!? And who are you?!? Cyrus?!?" Dusk regretted ever taking the phone.

Once again, the poochyena is blind-sided by an attack. This one looked like it burnt the small dog. Realizing he could now become captured, he starts running away. You could try throwing a pokeball at it or let it run. If you catch it, a trip to the pokemon center will be almost mandatory.

"Hehehe, I'll give you this much, neither I nor anyone else in my organization were involved in Team Galactic. As for what we want, there is something we want you to check out, but it will not be discussed over the phone. A package with a red string wrapped around it is waiting for you in your mailbox. Open it, read the letter, activate the poketech inside the package, and turn it to the memo page. Your instructions will be written there."

The woman on the other end hangs up. The next move is yours.

"Dangit, Drit use twister and nail that litlle @#!$!" Steven calls out to Drit, hoping he can make Drit mad and have her Slam that nasty little monkey. After All, It's better for a pokemon to learn to use a move by itself than by having it taught.

{Steven}

As a much simplar move, Drit has no problem pulling of a small whirlwind that is combinded with her own dragonic powers. The attack spins the monkey around in the air and throws it into the side of a tree. Drit is satisfied now that she has avenged the taunt as is ready to listen to all orders.

The chimchar, however, is back on its feet and charging in angrily with fury swipes. It seems blinded by anger, this may be your chance to pull off a good move.

I said to myself I would join. And to you. I hope tis not to late.

Tom knew that he should start trainingcapturing pokemon so he heads into the tall grass in the route to Mauville.

*Watching the Machop closely* Well, count out the lazy one. They're hard to train, though they make for good pets. Fortunately for him, I'm not looking for a pet. The offbeat posture of the second one seems interesting. I can teach him unique techniques quickly, and he probably knows some of his own. The leader is a serious challenge - Wait, did I just make a pun? But he is clearly a proficient scout.

But which of the two? The Quirky one would be useful for a battle if I combine my knowledge with his personality. Of course, the Serious one has a natural eye for danger. But my Houndour and Ralts can do the same. Alright, the Quirky one. But I got to disarm their defenses first.

If there is a rise of rock nearby that I can hide out of the Machop's view, or an ash mound, I look around the immediate scene, I'm moving quietly behind it, placing my backpack about a foot over the pokeball for Ralts I placed on the ground (To obstruct light further), and pick up the pokeball, drop it quietly onto the ground, and release Ralts.

If there isn't a concealing object nearby, I'm going to see where they're walking to set up an ambush.

If the first scenario works, I'm going to have Ralts teleport behind another rock closest to the Machops, or if there isn't one, teleport about 10-20 feet behind the Machops. Then I'll have her use Hypnosis on the Machop trio, to put them to sleep or at least throw off their coordination and disrupt their reasoning.

If the second scenario has to be used, I'm going to follow the Machops from a good distance.
