Hey everyone, I was curious about the best nature for a Mudkip {mudkip} and a Torchic {torchic} for my team.
I heard Rash is best for Torichic and Brave is best for Mudkip, is this true?

Thanks :D

It's all a matter of opinion. I can give you mine, if you tell us a plan for a final moveset. Really, you could go in any direction and do well; it just depends on what will be useful to you and won't be so useful.

I want them to both be Mixed sweepers and I'm not really sure what the movesets are going to be, but here's what I think I might want.

{swampert}
EarthQuake
Ice Beam
Surf/ Muddy Water(I don't like teaching HM's to my main Pokemon)
Rest/ Brick Break/ ?

{blaziken}

I really have no idea about the moveset for Blazkien...:?

...Lol I'm not that good at movesets

For Pokemon with double weaknesses (in-game, at least), I never try to bolster the defensive side much. For Mudkip/Swampert, try a Naughty nature (+Attack, -Special Defense).

For Blaziken, depends on your moveset.

Blaziken@Salac Berry
Rock Slide
Endure
Reversal
Flamethrower/Fire Blast/ Overheat
or...
Blaziken@Black Belt
Sky Uppercut/Brick Break
Swords Dance
Rock Slide/EQ
Flamethrower( You could kip Flamethrower and put in Rock Slide/EQ)

For the Black Belted Blaziken focus EVs on 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Sp. Atk.

For Blaziken, use Naughty or Lonely(unless you're not using any special attacks, then use Adamant)

Surf is the only useful HM in battle, it's also probably better than Muddy Water because of the higher accuracy. Also, give Swampert Rest in the last slot.

i reckon the best blaziken moveset would be

{blaziken} @ salac berry
adamant, EVs: 252 att, 252 spd, 6 hp
endure
reversal
overheat (or maybe fire blast or flame thrower)
another attack (preferably earthquake or rock slide which can kill birds)

the main reason for having the fire type move is so he can take advantage of STAB (and blaze if it has endured) and for getting rid of skarmory. so it doesnt really matter that the adamant nature lowers special attack - youre only gonna use the fire move once or at most twice, which is why i suggest overheat. its also nice to have a fire move to take care of forretress/scizor.

but dont bother with this moveset if you dont have a salac berry - blaziken will be too slow to make use of reversal. and you have to watch out for enemies with quick attack. to get endure and reversal, level up a male vigoroth - you need to level it up to about level 50 i think and dont let it evolve into a slaking. then breed it with a female torchic.

I guess if he feels better using a high-power fire-type move that will get blessed by Blaziken's staggering attack power, I guess Flare Blitz is an option too... but you probably suggested Overheat over that because it gives recoil damage, and Skarmory is more likely to get its butt kicked with a special move. Am I right?

That gives me an idea about my own Blaziken... >_>

You're welcome? Anyways, if you want Phsyical/Mixed Sweeper just use this:
Blaziken@Scope Lens
Sky Uppercut
Fire Blast ( not overheat because overheat has setbacks.)
Rock Slide
Focus Energy/Swords Dance
Yeh pretty much the same. Do EVs of- 142 atk- 142 sp atk- 6 spd

actually, i wasnt thinking about d/p (since im in australia) so yeah, a nice physical fire type move would make blaziken so crazy!!! he could probably do comparable damage to skarmory with flare blitz, and the recoil might just be a little help to get down towards that salac boost. who knows. maybe rock slide isnt so important now that his fire type moves can be based on his physical attack - maybe replace it by swords dance.

So does Fire Blast, like the fact that it misses half the time of 5 maximum times you can use it. I'd take Overheat over Fire Blast since the accuracy and base attack power are better, and the SPATT. drop doesn't really matter in that moveset since, as stated before, you won't need special attack a lot.

That's just my opinion though.

Ok, I'm going to try out Cuddles' moveset for {blaziken} and thanks for the replies everyone!

Off Topic: Yay! I'm leaving to go to Disney World in Florida in 1 hour! It's my first time ever being out of Canada!

See ya in 9 days! :D

Oh yeah, I have one other quick question.
What should I teach the {blaziken} if I can't get it Reversal AND Endure?

Thanks again!

im glad youre trying that moveset, although i dont mean to claim its my own idea - its a very common blaziken moveset (some people call a blaziken with those moves "reversalken"). its just the moveset i prefer!

anyway, you wont have any problem getting both reversal and endure. as long as the father vigoroth knows both moves the baby torchic will know them too!
