Yeah...back in the old days of Pokemon, I always wished the later Pokemon games would have unlimited space. Now, it's just getting annoying.
I like to collect items, so throwing them out isn't an option for me. But when it takes forever to scroll through items to give my pokemon an item I want, it gets on my nerves. I'd like to deposit my "junk" into the PC (weather rocks, everstones, etc.), but they removed the item storage function!
Is anyone else having this problem, or am I just ignorant and didn't notice there IS a way to store items?
EDIT: I forgot to say it's nice how they sorted them (medicine, TMs, etc.) but that doesn't do a lick of good when they add a TON of new items.

You expressed my thoughts completely. Back in the other games I wanted unlimited space, but now it is indeed bothersome. I'd always store all my stones and type-boosting items in the PC until I needed them, but now I can't. I don't see why they couldn't have just left the item storage system in the game. I don't like having to scroll through everything. D:

I'm having the same frustrations. It's fine for things like pokeballs, medicine, and key items, but when it comes to the general items pocket in the backpack it takes forever to find what I'm looking for. I end up scrolling through endless holding items that I rarely use, evolution stones, shards... the list goes on.
I like endless storage (it is endless, right...?) but I would also like the option of dropping things off in storage.

I agree with what you've said, Krisp. It was a dumb idea to take out the ability to store items in D/P. I rarely throw out items since I'm paranoid that once I toss them, I'll need them, but now I can't even put them in a box. Pretty annoying.

Ha! I've been thinking about this whenever I've turned my game on for the past couple of days. It really does tend to get annoying, but I always just put the items that I use the most up at the top for quick reference. The Select button really comes in handy.

Yeah, I moved my escape ropes and max repels (bought 99 of them) at the very top. Maybe I WILL sort them out sometime...
Still, it would be nice if we had an extra pocket (or two) to store things like type items (hard rock, etc.) and fossils...
Edit: 76 different items...wow, that's going to be fun to sort.

It helps to make an effort to get at least 2 each of your hold items, or at least your most used ones, that way when you put it on a pokemon and later take it off, your sort order doesn't get messed up.

ACK! How cruel of Nintendo! Removing the most useful part of the PC in pokemon!
But the first thing i do when getting an item, Is to sort them on a nice spot, Like A-Z :3

Doesn't really bother me to be honest. I never used the item storage, and it really only takes a few seconds to scroll through.

if they can make us scroll through items then why cant a pokemon keep every move it learns and we have the option to delete the crappy ones? if they have us do this then why not. atleast then it would be a little easyer to understand why and i need that pc item storage back now

Alright, I've sorted my items...it goes:
Max Repels
Escape Ropes
Stones
Fossils
Plates
Shards
Held Items
Evolution items that aren't stones
Weather Rocks
Incense
The rest are just battle items that I use often and would be bumped to the bottom of the list anyway when I attach it to a pokemon then take it back...

Well, I never really used the item storage, but I figure it is important because I need somewhere to store all my 10 skull fossils! But I have a tip! If you want to store an Item, than attach it to a pokemon in the pokemon storage. It takes a while, but it still works!

I've been having the same problems. Okay, let's give Gible an Exp. Share. *spends fifteen seconds scrolling through tons of items* Oh, wait, I want to use the Poke-Radar, so I need a Max Repel. *scrolls back to top*
...tedious indeed.
My bag is arranged like so:
Max Repel x large amount
Escape Rope
Battle/Growth Items (Exp. Share, Power [thing], etc.)
Plates
Evolution stones
<insert>
Sure, sending out a Pokemon with a bunch of snazzy effects is cool, but you don't have to delete the item storage to make up for it.

I agree.
Red/Blue had very limited item storage.
But in Advanced gen, I still threw away and sold all my items and TMs that I thought were useless. I regret this now that I am starting the competitive scene.
But now in D/P, there are soo many items. I don't want to make the same mistake as before, so I will keep them. I never used the Item Storage in any gen, but now I wish it was in D/P.

I don't really use a team. I just mix and match the Pokemon I have trained.

I agree with pretty much everything said at this point. It was a big surprise to me when I chose "Access My PC" at the beginning and my starting Potion wasn't there! Nor could I store any of my other Items later in the game.
I've had a system for organizing my Items since Red/Blue days though...
~Potions (any)
~Antidote
~Awakening
~Paralyze Heal
~Burn Heal
~Ice Heal
~Revive
~Max Revive
~Escape Rope
Because in Red, the first four slots were BICYCLE, POKéFLUTE, GREAT ROD, then POTIONS, then the next set would me my Status Healers and the next set was my Revive/Escaping Items.
...obviously it's a little different now, but that's how I organize the Stat stuff anyway.
As far as Miscellaneous Items go:
~ Honey/Repels
~ Hold Items (so I can keep track of what I've gotten so far)
~ Pseudo-Hold Items (this is what I call stuff like the Iron Ball and Sticky Barb. Yeah, they're Hold Items but they're potentially one-use only)
~ Evo Stones
~ Shards
~ Plates (although I'm trying to keep the majority of my Plates in my Loot Sack, since I dig up a lot Underground.)
~ Hold Items (these are the ones I switch around a lot - like Amulet Coin or Quick Claw)
I almost wish Nintendo would number the Items, so they'd self-arrange like the TMs or Berrys...

You know you can hit select, then spin the Pokeball on the touch screen to make it go really really fast, right? (Press B so it doesn't actually move the item)
I sort mine Alphabetical, so it gets hard to find Super Repels, though even with 100+ different items, select and rotating the pokeball trick takes 4 seconds to find it from the top.
Honestly, I like the Unlimited storage, however, I wanted more bags for items.
Hold items (Ones with effects in Battle) could possibly go in the Battle section, which honestly NEEDS more items for it, only the Status flutes and X *insert stat here* go in it, what a waste.

I think they should have included an extra bag pocket for hold items as they seem to take up the most space in my bag at the moment...
And another almost related thing - how annoying is it that you have to remove the ball seals when you put the pokemon in the PC it means I cant get any cool seals because I cant be bothered to keep moving them...

What they ought to add is a search function. Thst way, you dont have to keep scrolling and scrolling to find what you need. For example, if you are looking for yiur Hypee Potion, but know its at the bottom of the pack:
Press SEARCH
Type HYPER into the little keyboard that shows up on th bottom screen
Use item
This would work especially well if they made everything alphabetical, like RL said, and you wanted, for example, a Zinc while EV Training
Or just add a 'Storage' Pocket for stuff you dont use much

You know what they could have added, to make it easier?
'Jump' buttons; Jump to Top, and Jump to Bottom.

it moves a little faster and may save you sum sannity

yep its annoying expecially if you have a VERY large quantity of different items like having 99 different TMs/HMs

As a substitute for the Item thing, I made Pokemon I never use and waste space in my PC hold useless items. (Everstones, Hold items) When I need those items, If i ever do, I just simply take away that item. helps. I also caught like 30 starly for this purpose.
yeah...Organizing alphabetically also helps.
