Yeah, we have Indie here in America, but let's not talk about that . . . I love the Arctic Monkeys, though. I haven't gotten my hands on their new disc, but I loved their last one.

I think the Beatles were about as un-Indie as a band can be . . .

That's like talking about the Beatles in a death metal topic because death metal is a type of rock.

I belive indie means independent, as in, on an independent label, as in, not mainstream, which is the opposite of the Beatles.

I actually really like american indie, but not as much as I like Canadian. I only have a few from England, but I do like the ones I have. They aren't on your list, though.

The Stranglers have never been classed as indie by anyone I've ever known. They're a punk/new wave band that have been around for 33 years.

I am an american that digs the english music scene, however, many of those bands aren't really indie in England. When bands like Muse, and the arctic monkeys sell out wimbley stadium two days in a row, they sort of loose their indie title. Oh and some of those bands are american (WAS, the racounteurs, the bravery).

The Fratellis are not indie. Any artist that is on an iTunes ad and is (was previously) on the iTunes Top 100 list is not Indie.
