I was up at 3:30 in the morning this morning playing Pearl, trying to get the female Relicanth from the male one and a Ditto... For all you novice-breeders out there, this ain't easy. Relicanths are only 1/8 of the time female and they take over 10,000 steps to hatch. Even with Magcargo's fast-hatching ability, it's tedious and frustrating. But I kept at it.
After around 20 male baby Relicanths in a row, I get the female.
And the VERY NEXT egg is ALSO a female.
I scored two female Relicanths in a row. The chances of that are 1 in 64.
Then I decided to get the female Chimchar in the same fashion. I also get two females in a row, after only about 4 males. Not AS impressive, since they take quicker to hatch and is less tedious, but it's still a score. Now I can put the extra females for Chimchar and Relicanth on the GTS and get something rare. =O
I just had to share that. I'm estatic. =D

Wait until you get to go through the mind-numbing frustration of trying to get a female combee with -just the right nature-.

Yeah, I was lucky. It only took me an hour to get TWO adamant female combees.

Oh lord. ...And is this with Everstone use or without? O.o
Maybe I'm lucky. I'm not using a Vespiquen in my team. Though she is pretty cool... ^^
Though not as cool as Claydol, as far as tanks go... 'cause Claydol can use Ice Beeeeeeam... ;P

I 'still' haven't gotten a female combee, and now I have 3 boxes full of combees that I am calling 'The Hive'
Now if only Attack Orders power increased by the number of male combee's you own...

I'm not exactly sure what nature is recommended for a Vespiquen, but the only three female Combees I've ever obtained are Relaxed, Sassy, and Calm - and I never had to reset the game at all (correct me if Relaxed/Sassy aren't the correct natures).
Edit: Meh, I'll be training my Sassy Combee I guess (my Relaxed one has terrible IVs, however, my Sassy one has the possibility of 31 Def/ Sp.Def)

Depending on how you're building a Vespiquen, the best natures are Relaxed (Physical Tank), Sassy (Special Tank), Brave(If you are going more for physical attacks) and Quiet(For Special attacks).
Go with Brave or Quiet if you're looking for mixed tank that can do decetn damage. Hard to pull off, and really demands a lot of your EV's, so try to keep them equal
The only real problem Vespiquens have is Rock attacks (the bulk of which are Physical, I believe Power Gem being the exception), so for the bulk of Tanking, I'd recommend Relaxed.
But thats just my opinion.

Oh! Forgot to mention...
My spare female Relicanth IS up for grabs, in case anyone's interested. I'll let you guys bid on her; whoever offers me the rarest/best offer (considering both Pokemon and item attached), or whichever offer I like best, takes the cake (or rather, Relicanth =P) . Hint: I'm looking for the Johto starters especially. ;)

I have all three Johto starters!
...but what's so special about female Relicanths?

...but what's so special about female Relicanths? Females are rare.
But I guess I've gotten a female Combee by saving infront of the tree and reseting if it's male.
And I restarted my emerald game but gave my Blaziken to Treeckoluv until I beat the E4, so I could get Torchic's and Combusken's data I bread it and trained it at the E4 and I was planning to release it once it was a Combusken. But right as it reached LVL16 I noticed a sign next to it's picture when it leveled up, a RED sign.
I'm bathing with my Female Combusken!

Well, Relicanths appear in the wild 5% of the time, and 12.5% of those are female. Do the math, and that means you have a less-than-1% chance to find a female Relicanth in the wild, meaning your chances of getting a Relicanth that knows the great moves like Amnesia, Rock Slide and Aqua Tail (that one being particularly good on Relicanth rather than, say, Whiscash, since it's accurate, STABbed and physical to compliment his stats =D), next to nil. If you just want to get it for the Pokedex, don't invest, it's way too much trouble. But if you, say, want to get an awesome and rare gift for your friend or want a competent Relicanth in your team, I can easily save you tons of trouble, and all you have to do is breed me a Chikorita or whatever (male is fine, since I don't mind waiting for Ditto to produce the rare female Chikorita).
Edit: By the way, I'm an avid collector of female Pokemon of all kinds (excluding Legendaries) because one of my favorite pasttimes is breeding tons of random Pokemon with rare Egg Moves, putting all the eggs in a box, mixing them up, and letting my friends play the Egg Lottery. Once I get enough of them in Pearl, I plan on starting that up in the forums as well. =D Thus, a female Relicanth is most likely more valuable to someone like me than it would be to you. I could be wrong though. =)
