Oh my gosh, I can't believe that Flash was degraded to a TM! Its crazy! And also with dive, man, I didn't see that coming...I thought they would keep it since in RSE it had so much importance (Sootopolis)...That makes me somewhat sad for it. Any thoughts?

I hated Flash as an HM. Normally I'd spend a day or two wandering in the darkness rather than wasting a move on a pokemon.

I hated Flash as a HM, and yet I kinda agree with poplers, but about the Dive...it makes me sad :(

Dive never really meant anything to me, and I despised Flash. In fact, I found Wayward Cave so simple to navigate that I officially will never have a use for it. Yay.

As for Dive, I'm just terribly amused as to how pointless Dive Balls are now. Underwater bonus FTL.

Rather than wasting time and space on flash, I just rather memorized all of the dark caves, which was really useful because my sisters and cousins ocassionally play, and they have no idea how to get through them. As for Dive, all I used that for was to wake/catch Kyogre, to get to Sootopolis, and to avoid the army of Tentacool and Wingull, but instead have a chance of finding Relicanth.

Well, that depends. Have you seen any Dive Balls available in Diamond and Pearl, other then ones brought over on Pal Park'ed pokémon? I didn't think so.

Notice how, since Dive is no longer a part of the game, that *gasp* they didn't make Dive Balls natively available, perhaps, *gasp* forseeing that they were now useless?

Flash, sadly wasn't a favorite move of mine, but I did like Dive, morely just for the beauty competitions. But with them making them TM''s in D/P doesn't surprise nor disappoint me.

Yep, totally. I even started to learn how ot navigate by "bumps" (y'know the little 'donk' sound you make when you hit walls? yeah, that one). I NEVER have found a use for Flash.... Red/Blue were the easiest Dungeons because, even in pitch black, you still had the outlines of the rock walls around you.

Dive for me was "meh". I wasn't a big fan of it -it was just like a Water-type 'Dig'.

While I don't like Flash, I'd have rather kept it an HM than Defog, which is the exact same thing, except a dark cave doesn't drop accuracy.

At the same time, why is everyone complaining about Dive being gone? if you haven't noticed, there are maybe 2 or 3 sea routes in the game, and all the little odd ponds and rivers.

Hoenn had several water routes and island towns, so it was actually useful in this respect. Just like Rock Climb makes sense in this because of how mountainous the region is, but if it were in the earlier games, it would have seen little use.

There was a nice tinge to dive in the fact of the regis and whatnot.
Flash: an excuse for game makers to laugh at people. Why didn't they just give a pokemon an ability to light up caves??

That is why I love Sinnoh. There are so few water routes, or water locations really. I noticed that Rock Climb couldn't have been done in the other games because of the new 3'd aspect of the games, but I think Flash not being an HM rocks because it sucks. lol.

I wish we had more useful HMs. I mean, the only ones I like are Surf and Fly.

Defog is soo boring, all it does is help you (barely) to get to Celestial town. Urgh. What a waste. At least flash helped you see through the caves, while Defog defogs what could already be seen. Urgh. Bad replacement IMO.

And I don't like rock climb either, although it does help a lot. It just adds another move w/the word 'rock' in front of it. Let's see, now we have 3403434. And counting.

I hate all HMs except surf. I wish that your character could do all of the things that the HMs do after you obtain them. For fly you should have a flying type so that you can use it instead of teaching it.
